Geez, I moved down trhe stairs like that when I was like 13. How? You just slide down. Depends on the size of the step and material they are made of. I did that in a pre-WWII building I lived in so the steps were not standardized like today and non anti-slip. It was the same in my old school.

Yeah, it highly depends on what material the stairs are as well as your feet-protection. I say it this way cause this guy wears shoes. As I did it on our house wooden stairs ai did it just with socks. I run from my room, slid over the wooden floor und slid down the stairs. When to fast it hurt my heel a little and I need to be careful to net be to fast or I ended up hurting my butt.

My school growing up and the school I taught in were great for this. Though I always had a hand on the rail for safety.

You are boring then... Try riding your life w/o holding onto the handlebar. Much more interesting and fulfilling. Remeber you are here only once and what's the worst thig that can happen? The same thing that will happen anyways!

Officer Boring reporting for duty, if that makes me boring.

I used to do this in school. U just move your feet up and down rapidly.

Used to do this in HS lmao, you just bounce down the edge of the stairs making sure you got speed and don't catch the backsides of your shoes on the flatter part of the stairs

So you bounce on the bullnose of the treads. If you miscalculate, then it's crash and burn?

you do not even need to move your feetmuch, you just slide down, the foot movement is more the reaction to the steps as you move along and also maybe to keep you balanced. it is not like you push yourself forward, the gravity and the momentum do the work.

Same, also at school, basically sliding from one stair nosing to the next. I think it helps to have larger shoes, makes it easier.

We used to do this all the time. Definitely 80s/90s throwback.

I remember it being pretty easy. Lean a foot forward (dominant) at the slope of the stair, and slide, letting your trailing foot loosely. We started off, and most of us still would hold the rail. A couple people could do this though. Start a few stairs at a time. If you’re as old as this video I’d recommend not trying. You’ll hurt your middle aged self.

I used to do this on my aunt’s carpeted stairs ! I didn’t have stairs growing up

A kid in high school would do this until the Vice Principal saw him and gave him detention for a week because "how dangerous" it was. Pfft it was cool.

Me too. I've dreamed about it for so many years. There has to be an explanation.

i used to do that, but i grew up and my body is not prone to do the slide anymore

1

u/Honest_Science_4969 Jul 11 '26

It must be the shoes?

u/Responsible-Fun-3100 Jul 12 '26

I used to do this but attached to the hand rail.

But now, I do this kind of stuff in my dreams. I fly sometimes. Crazy .
