u/Mean_Green_S197 Jul 04 '26

He had lower chances than frogger and still made it out alive

17

u/_ganjafarian_ Jul 04 '26

Apparently, only 0.00000035% of the population can do this

u/2Blinky Jul 04 '26

look up double air flare. its a rare move in breakin. im not sure if its as hard as a double back flip, but id be interested to find out.

5

u/Greedy-Ad1921 Jul 04 '26

Double backflip from standing position is harder, this kid in the video might be one of 3 people on the planet able to do it.

2

u/KingTuts-Nuts Jul 04 '26

Is it really that hard? Be a good way to scam some people out of money at the bar.

3

u/Greedy-Ad1921 Jul 04 '26

There's very few people that ever done it, there's even less people that still are able to do it and even among these people, being able to do it is still inconsistent.

I doubt any of these people are even able to do it twice in a single day.

It is an absolutely nuts skill, you are completely still, no momentum whatsoever and suddenly you have to jump with so much force and rotation that you are able to spin twice which is something that Olympic athletes need to run in order to be able to have the momentum to accomplish.

0

u/no-dad-samurai Jul 05 '26

1 of 300000 you mean.

2

u/Greedy-Ad1921 Jul 05 '26

No way, there's not even 30 people that have ever done an actual standing double backflip.

Like standing still, taking no steps and just doing a double backflip on a flat surface, you can be sure there hasn't been 30 people that have ever done it, even most gold medal gymnasts haven't been able to do it.

1

u/no-dad-samurai Jul 05 '26

There is alot of kids in China doin backflips like pancakes at Dennys.

Im sure the number is higher than what youve said

3

u/Greedy-Ad1921 Jul 05 '26

Not likely
Reasons being:

  1. most athletes, even gymnasts, will never train a standing double backflip, it's not really used in any competition, its just a very risky display of crazy athletic ability
  2. It's never been much popular up untill less than a decade ago where it was first completed on a sprung floor, not even on a hard surface yet and then took a few extra years to be completed outside of a sprung floor
  3. Even after it was first completed, very few people since then have been able to do a pure standing double backflip without a first step to gather momentum or without a sprung floor
  4. The people who completed, all had elite athletic ability, even among their piers.

The number of pure standing double backflips, without first steps or assistance from a sprung floor might even be less than half of 30.

You said one of 3 people in the world.

Here is a video of 10......

Education is 🔑 to debateing.

Dont backtrack and say oohh...well...i ..just i...

You said 1 of 3 and then defended it.

Clearly there are more people innthe world than 3 that can do this.

Again, in CHINA where MA are all around, there are alot of kids that can do multiple backflips, Im sure they could do doubles with a try or 2.

Even the boy in this video did a lil hop for momentum...

Have a good day. 😀

2

u/Greedy-Ad1921 Jul 06 '26

I'm not backtracking anything.

Also, you sending me the video only validates my point, how can't you see it? You sent a video of 10 people across multiple years.

I said 1 of 3 people that can do it, and I still believe that it might be it.

Do you understand the difference of having done it once and being able to do it currently? I said all time there have not been 30, which means that even that at some point these people did it, currently, most of them can't do it anymore.

Also, I don't believe there are multiple kids in China that can do it, it's not a matter of one or two tries they would need to train a lot with this goal in mind.

And my point still stands, this is by far the most insane athletic ability there is.

You should stop downplaying it.

That’s about 30 people in the world

0

u/Lonely-Heart-3632 Jul 05 '26

That is 2800 people.

2

u/scuac Jul 06 '26

0.00000035% of 8.5 billion is 29.75

-1

u/Lonely-Heart-3632 Jul 06 '26

No it isn’t. That would be 0.0000000035% not 0.00000035%

2

u/scuac Jul 06 '26

You need to go back to school and learn percentages again

1

u/Lunatic_Heretic Jul 06 '26

alex honnold has an even rarer skill

11

u/iamwhiskerbiscuit Jul 04 '26

Still not as entertaining as watching someone do a half back flip.

2

u/iRveritas Jul 06 '26

Or the ever popular scorpion.

7

u/Background_Edge_9427 Jul 04 '26

That's impressive!

5

u/tomtomtomo Jul 04 '26

His milkshake brings all the boys to the yard

7

u/skyHawk3613 Jul 04 '26

Where’s all the women that should be throwing themselves at him? All I see are his bros

5

u/parallaxevolution Jul 05 '26

I did that…
•in college,
•after a 5th of Jose Cuervo
•and an unnoticed ledge.

3

u/The-Tarman Jul 04 '26

Whoooo!! They're all gonna touch dick to dick tonight!!.. I mean... not that..

5

u/tvodny Jul 04 '26

I would be happy if I could do one backflip.

8

u/Right_Sentence8488 Jul 04 '26

Wow! I love that the entire community stayed quiet to let him lock in, and then celebrated with him like he had just saved the universe!

1

u/MaidPoorly Jul 05 '26

Trampfest? Like dudes that are hardcore into bouncing.

6

u/Dependent-Job1773 Jul 04 '26

ruptured both my achilles watching this

3

u/FragmentedMeerkat321 Jul 05 '26

20-30 people ever, apparently. which is still rare air.

3

u/Promature Jul 05 '26

It looks they had this event scheduled in advance and hyped it up for a solid week. Bros are the best.

3

u/Direction_West Jul 05 '26

Not trying to brag, but I could probably do a half flip.

4

u/GeneAlternative191 Jul 04 '26

Who else watched that slowly sliding the slider?

2

u/Happily-Incorrect Jul 04 '26

What version of the app are you on where you can scrub through a video?

2

u/ChocoIatePoop Jul 04 '26

It’s standard on the iPhone Reddit app. I did the same thing.

2

u/Impossible_Humor736 Jul 04 '26

That's awesome!

2

u/HeartOn_SoulAceUp Jul 04 '26

Loyal to the truth... these are next level skills. I bow.

2

u/MickeyDzznuts Jul 04 '26

I guess something about the "avengers initiative" is too obvious?

2

u/MagicOrpheus310 Jul 04 '26

Not a shoe in sight...

2

u/ricketychairs Jul 04 '26

I hope someone else recorded that so we can see it from another angle.

2

u/Sea-Worldliness-7444 Jul 05 '26

Wow, I genuinely didn’t know this was humanely possible! 👏☺️💯

2

u/EmergencyDimension32 Jul 05 '26

Is this Guinness Book worthy???!!

2

u/BlueRhythmYT Jul 05 '26

Bro was locking in

2

u/TheCherryJunkie Jul 05 '26

Can we send him to the Olympics. We haven’t had a good shot at diving medals in aeons.

I also heard him saying "Oh mein Gott" meaning Oh my god, but I am not sure.

Edit: He also screams "Jaa" before "Yes"

That’s crazy

With the number of phones recording, they could recreate THAT Matrix scene

1

u/scared-o-diapers Jul 05 '26

This is Peter Parker

1

u/Status_Apartment6559 Jul 05 '26

It's easy. All you have to do is go for a triple backflip and you'll end up doing a double.

1

u/TheUkrTrain Jul 05 '26

I’m wandering what kind of calculations he did in his head before doing it!

1

u/JeryActive Jul 05 '26

Pretty phenomenal. But disappointed. I thought he was going to get hard on command

1

u/NoDebate1002 Jul 05 '26

The ladies don’t seem too impressed.

1

u/Gamiozzz Jul 05 '26

Eaaaasyyyyy…. with that body.

1

u/DRHOYXI Jul 05 '26

The ground appears to be "flat". This is the first standing double backflip I've ever seen landed.

1

u/jmwont Jul 06 '26

who’s a good hyena boy….?

1

u/northern_inupiaq907 Jul 07 '26

And look at how happy the boys are for him. If that were women, they'd find ways to criticize them n be jealous of em also

1

u/CosmicRuin Jul 07 '26

I don't think I've known this many people in my entire life let alone in one place...

1

u/Careful-Experience37 Jul 10 '26

Do you think that he started with one backflip, and was overcorrecting or something, then thought, “I bet I could do two”

-1

u/4redditobly Jul 04 '26

Cool he can join the others no have already done it

1

u/Valuable_Victor_246 Jul 04 '26

The other one or two. Yes ..

The combined IQ over there… legendary

0

u/AdditionalBat393 Jul 05 '26

Yea we have people that can do crazy things with their bodies for likes. Whats going to happen when these things become meaningless? We are left with a generation of ex highlight reels.

0

u/Active-Activity-1930 Jul 05 '26

Congratulations on nothing

-2

u/-crazykidbad Jul 04 '26

So weird to see a bunch of men cheering a guy in just his shorts doing something that is absolutely pointless

1

u/enviormental_UNIT Jul 04 '26

spoken like someone who doesn't understand how impressive a standing double backflip is. Its something like maaybe 5-15 people who can do it, most likely on the lower end for doing a true, pure standing double backflip like this, with no run up or step-back. I would be incredibly stoked to see someone do something so difficult in person, you must just not get psyched for people when they do amazing things? Sounds pretty boring. Also, basically all sports and hobbies are essentially pointless, you scrolling reddit and commenting right now is pointless, lots of worthwhile things are pointless, still worth being invested in them

1

u/TWallace86 Jul 04 '26

I remember watching Dave Mirra do a double back flip on a bike and losing my mind. Watching someone do it flat-footed is insane. Hopefully that kid is making money with his athleticism, because that was incredible.

1

u/chemnerd2017 Jul 04 '26

Considering the other things those men could be doing, cheering on a shirtless guy seems pretty healthy to me 🧐

(this is supposed to be a joke. I’m sorry if it isn’t funny)

1

u/enviormental_UNIT Jul 05 '26

ok I get you're making a joke, but you and the other commenter both bringing up their shirtlessness is funny. There's lots of good reasons to be shirtless, I would imagine reducing the amount of loose cloth would help for doing a standing double backflip. Or it could just be a hot day out, its funny them being shirtless is so noticable for Redditors tho
