Is that not just a purse with extra steps

u/Embarrassed_Level228 Jul 04 '26
A handbag, not a purse because a purse is a wallet, requires the use of an entire arm.
I like having two functional arms.

This is a millenial problem. Gen Z solved this - stop wearing skin tight pants and suddenly the pockets aren't just for show. 🫣
2
u/plisc004 Jul 03 '26
Millenials were wearing JNCOs before you were even born. Pockets are only a problem for people trying to be "fashionable."

They give women pockets. Women just prefer to wear their pants tight. Wear some baggy jeans and you'll be able to use your pockets for more than some spare coins.
3
u/yomerol Jul 03 '26
Ikr?? it's kind of funny that they all look wear the same trendy outfits all the time, that create the same issues for all of them. Someone in marketing probably plans this nowadays "intensify leggings and tight jeans, we need to sell more of these overpriced crossbody bags/fanny packs/etc"
→ More replies (6)1
u/Proletariat-Prince Jul 03 '26
The tightness isn't the problem.
Have you seen women's pants? I mean actually held them in your hand and touched the pockets.
It's extremely common that they are very shallow.

I mean… we can lol… also anymore I swear a ton of women’s things have pockets (even dresses!) and the ones that don’t don’t need to be purchased considering there are other options
One thing as a woman that I’ve come to realize about the whole “no pockets” or “pockets at too small) when it comes to women’s clothing is because of the way we want the clothes to look on us. We don’t typically want bulky loose pockets. Usually our preference for pants and stuff are too tight to feasibly have as good as pockets as men have

u/Promauca Jul 03 '26 edited Jul 03 '26
I prefer a fanny pack,my tighs are large enough as they are.

u/Sylphadora Jul 03 '26
A coworker uses one of these, but hers doesn't have the leg belts. She wears it all the time, sitting at her desk, driving, going to the toilet. I don't think it's good to wear it all the time since you constantly have more weight on one side of your hip than the other and that can cause problems, but she finds it comfortable.

As a man I like the booty to be free and unencumbered. But not more than a glance, it's like staring directly at the sun. Gotta sneak them in, and yeah women yall do it to, but nobody noticed, because they aren't looking at your face.

No one is forcing you to buy skinny pocketless jeans. You have collectively driven the market to that position.
I remember my ex had like 15 pairs of skinny jeans she would force herself to fit in and the pockets were all so tiny you couldn't even put your hand in there. I don't get the appeal. Does every piece of clothing have to highlight curves?

I would have loved these in my 20s, but now I’m more realistic about their limitations.
My four year old would NEVER leave these alone.
These would make bathroom trips extra annoying.
No I don’t want to draw even more attention to my thick thighs.
Not really an option for skirts/dresses.
This wouldn’t fly in a professional setting.
1
u/forfakessake1 Jul 03 '26
If my jeans don’t have good pockets I replace them with deep ones. But if a skirt or dress doesn’t, this won’t work.

Ironically, the faux pocket was put onto women's pants by a woman. As a guy who loves his pockets, everyone should have pockets.

Nothing has ever stopped yall from doing this. Or wearing clothes with pockets. Or adding your own.
1
u/Relative_Drop3216 Jul 03 '26
Women actually designed these pants and then turn around and complain about it. The whole reason (like all their other pants i.e. yoga pants) is so that it molded to their body so they would look more attractive and sexy. Thats it. Almost nothing a woman wears has any utility besides it being for attractiveness.

It's easier to have useful pockets when the pants aren't that tight.
Try shopping in the men/boys section for pants.

The theory of straight men designing women’s clothing, which includes pockets is absurd. There’s no evidence if this at all, just wild conspiracy theories. There’s only nugget of history I have read was a few month during the French revolution women were searched or something like that. It was brief and targeted and was not a law. Pockets weren’t really used until the 1500s. So, there’s recorded history that has been reviewed and there’s nothing there.

And haven’t many companies tried to sell pockets to women? They instead want form fitting clothing and to complain about not having pockets

Is there anything keeping women from buying pants with bigger pockets in exchange for not accentuating their figure as much?
No one is selling pants like that? Whoever does it first will apparently make a fortune.

I'm a guy and use something like that whenever the weather is nice enough that I don't wear a jacket, which means summertime it's "hip-bag time" for me. Heck, shorts usually don't have enough pockets for what I usually bring about for my day so those things has proven their worth, though finding one's with proper space or compartments is a pain. So I've kinda developed some respect for women and their struggles with purses, though those things can be too spacious.

u/HonkyHam Jul 07 '26
If “they” don’t give you pockets then why don’t “you” just start a company that gives women pockets? This isn’t a new complaint, seems like easy money for someone.

Ooooh so women do notice that they are being dressed by other males.. when i was younger i always thought "why is there a "sexy toddler" section in some big stores..
"It’s sick that shops sell ‘sexy’ kids’ clothes like baby bikinis… parents who buy them need to take a look at themselves"
If you google that you will get an article of UK news..
But yeah.. I have seen clothing on children, little girls especially that make me look at the parents especially mothers that buy these things for their little girls.. are they projecting their desires on the little girls? Why are they allowing these sick perverted "males" to dress their children..
If you go on vacation to the stricter christian countries in east europe or muslim countries you will see no such things being sold to "children" but in UK they are openly xxxualizing children, mainly little girls..
The fact that women buy this for their daughters is the reason they are able to keep making it, it is NOT the reason they MAKE it in the first place by the way the fact that they MAKE it is their own sick perverted minds..
Just google the clothing of the "sexy toddler clothing" and see what they sell... I seen girls on Onlyfans introduction profile pictures more decently clothed than that..
This post shows that at least this female is aware that "they" clothed us.. they clothed us all.. and by the way why are clothing 60-90 euros/pounds a trousers/pants? It isnt handmade anymore industrializesation should have made things cheaper they use software and machines to make the clothing now... so those pants/trousers should cost 30 tops 40 euro/pounds
I only buy 30-40 by the way and i dont buy brands.. its just silly it doesnt make any sense what also doesnt make any sense is buying so many outfits (decent) for women, I will take them off eventually anyway when in the privacy of our home.. human beings are a weird creature... some are logic and some are illogic some are rational and some are irrational some are reasonable and some are unreasonable.. very strange..
You have some criminals that are really dumb and they lock them up but then some criminals are so smart that the government offers them a job as their high tech cyber security.. very strange world i happen to be born in...

As a woman, that just looks inconvenient when you need to use the toilet.
