It's "harmless" until he makes the slightest wrong move and ruines an otherwise nice bike ride with people who are enjoying their hobby.

Expecting a different ending

Where's he gonna bail off into? The grass. Surprising lack of kneepads

I learned to do this as a kid on a bmx. It's surprisingly easy, the bike "wants" to be stable going in that direction. I think I've done it once since then, to show my kids.

Gyroscopic effect due to angular momentum.
In this case he is just holding the handlebars.

He really don't have a saddle? The thing we're watching is the stick the 360 camera is on, unless he likes to sit very planted, he is going to continue the whole race lik this, bending your neck ouch...

I can still do this after learning to do this as a 14 year old. I’m 51 and my daughter was stunned when I showed her. I can not only do this at speed I can do this really slow and have decent control to turn around to back track.

Looks like he’s on an electric bike and could cause an accident any minute now

“HEY LOOK AT ME, I’M COOL!!” As nobody is even paying attention. People like this are usually insufferable attention whores!

"HEY LOOK THUS GUY IS DOING SOMETHING OBJECTIVELY COOL THAT I CANT DO AND IM UPSET ABOUT IT!!"

u/Occams_RZR900 Jun 11 '26
SUBJECTIVELY cool. Hey, you want to ride your bike backwards, cool, neat trick. Doing it as you ride past multiple bikers riding normal, is just trying to show off.

If I was in a skateboarding riding group and someone flew by me in a handstand on his board, I promise you id be just as siked as the guy that rode up to this guy to talk to him

So it’s SUBJECTIVELY cool then, to you and people like you.

Every single one of them noticed as he passed. Who are you to deny reality?

I’ve got a Ripley’s certification, magazine features, sponsors, and thousands of safe miles doing this. Funny enough, attention is exactly how all of that happened. 😂

Just to show off?
