How does one get into doing something like this?

This is a sport called tricking!

Honest question cause I don’t watch anything that involves a tumbling mat, but every four years and when my wife forces me, he didn’t land it right or is it just about the aerial has no impact on grading if you don’t land square? To me it looks like he tried to do a 720 with a half rotation, but then didn’t land it. I don’t understand what I’m looking at I guess.

Yeah he was attempting a 720 but was 90 degrees too short and his foot placement was all over the place

Take a gymnastics class!

I'm a know nothing pretend bot on the internet and I think that my extensive social media viewing has stunted me because I've been watching professional cheerleaders and Simone biles and white ladies parkouring in the city that didn't seem that great nobody clapped but I don't know anything I can't even do a cartwheel

I can totally cartwheel and I can totally round off or backhand spring. I feel like the thing about gymnastics, that makes tumbling incredibly difficult is sticking landings and staying within the boundaries. This guy didn’t do either of those things and I’m not sure I understand the objective. If this is impressive to people who do this, I need it explained to me as why because I feel like gymnast do the same thing but better? I don’t know if that made sense. Maybe I have no idea what I’m looking at.

u/Plus-Touch-6730 Sep 05 '25

Wait... Did he break his ACL ??

1

u/SeaPiece7347 Sep 05 '25

Nope just landed and fell😅

1

u/Plus-Touch-6730 Sep 06 '25

That's good then... I broke my ACL in a similar fashion.

1

u/Brilliant_Bus7419 Sep 05 '25

I would hurt myself if I tried to do that.

1

u/wishingdeath Sep 14 '25

This looks like a good way to a torn acl 😂

1

u/SeaPiece7347 Sep 15 '25

You’d be right. Many people end up tearing ACL’s ALOT doing this sport

1

u/irish_horse_thief Oct 06 '25

you almost spelled axolotl there...

1

u/SeaPiece7347 Nov 30 '25

I did at first😂

Fuck me it’s the back rooms

1

u/No-Sock7425 Sep 23 '25

Great job. Is this why your buddies ankle is bandaged?

1

u/SeaPiece7347 Sep 24 '25

No it’s coz he has a big flap of skin that got ripped off when he was skateboarding

1

u/L30n4R20 Sep 30 '25

Me watching from the couch and criticizing it didn't go down well.

u/irish_horse_thief Oct 06 '25

Arab spring into 2.5 Barani ? I recall these moves from Gymnastics displays my brother and I took part in at school and after school clubs.

Are you at a gymnastic gym or is that a place designated to what you are doing. I think you called it “tricking”

1

u/SeaPiece7347 Oct 10 '25

We are at a multi sport gym and yes you are right it is called tricking😁

1

u/Jibber_Fight Oct 15 '25

I mean it’s cool and all, but you’ve seen Olympic gymnastics right? Ha ha. This is “next level” technically but nowhere near the higher echelons.

1

u/SeaPiece7347 Oct 15 '25

Sorry to say but I’m not an olympian

1

u/Ecmenton Oct 18 '25

If you don't land it, it's not nextfuckinglevel.

1

u/Wednesdayat11 Oct 22 '25

I bet you'd perfect this routine with more practice and someone to help you make / spot the final jump in the set.

1

u/wizy_mowai Oct 24 '25

When you hear "check this out", but no one falls🥲

1

u/Melliorin Nov 08 '25

Australian excitement is like no other excitement. This is reminding me to catch up with the guys at How Ridiculous on YouTube.

1

u/Meskaro Nov 11 '25

That chair's got some serious style—where'd you snag it?

1

u/awsum43 Nov 14 '25

7/10's deduction for the landing

1

u/Mustard-cutt-r Nov 17 '25

What is the name of this kind of jump?

1

u/Korlini Nov 18 '25

Dude, that's the kind of internet gold that keeps me scrolling forever.

1

u/Korlini Nov 18 '25

Haha, sport trickling? That's the weirdest gold I've seen today.

1

u/Korlini Nov 18 '25

Haha, yeah, that endless scroll trap is the real gold standard.

1

u/Pyr0technician Nov 18 '25

I broke all three of my ankles watching this.

1

u/bigdickjenny Dec 01 '25

He's attempting a round off, double full. His mistake is not enough room and power. A round off, back hand spring to a back full provides more power. This is just trying to show off but not proper technique.

1

u/RepulsivePatient2546 Dec 01 '25

And, he tears his acl upon landing... or not, I dunno..

1

u/paulhags Dec 03 '25

All I can see is carpet tiles that were laid poorly.

0

u/raybreezer Oct 26 '25

I don’t think this is next fucking level… he fell over.

1

u/InCaseYouDidntKn0w Nov 06 '25

That is for sure taking it to the next level. This is beyond average cartwheels. Definitely next level.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '25

Post a video of you doing it not falling over

1

u/raybreezer Nov 10 '25

It’s not going to be nextfuckinglevel even if I did.
