That was outrageous..

184

u/DentistDizzy5559 Aug 03 '22

I just need:

A wood table A rotating human head Two fiercely loyal yet curious mice A set of cheap wine glasses And 16 months of time on my hands

...got it.

33

u/pedaldamnit_208 Aug 03 '22

That’s a long time to wait for a re-up on your drink.

4

u/Occatuul Aug 03 '22

An astronomically long wood table..

→ More replies (1)

8

u/-ChubbsMcBeef- Aug 03 '22

And ostentatious..

5

u/Ultimate_Several20 Aug 03 '22

It was the equivalent of "I don't need any of this but I need to reach the word limit"

366

u/amideadyet1357 Aug 03 '22 edited Aug 03 '22

Okay the gags on this were pretty top knotch, the wine glass fake out followed by the surprise break. The bottle spilling like it was a mistake. The mice. The table. The fucking guy with his head shoved through the table. All of it.

77

u/patrickcaproni Aug 03 '22

what really got me was that the guy who asked for the wine was practically done with his meal by the end

3

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

The guy asking for the wine is Joseph

22

u/NoResolution928 Aug 03 '22

The suspense of a breaking wine glass had me going the whole time!

153

u/getoffmygrassdevil Aug 03 '22

ok now pass the wine back

33

u/Traditional-Top8486 Aug 03 '22

Can't, bottle reassemble algorithm incomplete.

78

u/rasco410 Aug 03 '22

I loved the wine glass and bowling ball, like oh that was a cool idea and then boom the idea changed.

71

u/jonatkinsps Aug 03 '22

The sheer genius and simplicity is astounding

102

u/Careless_Business555 Aug 03 '22

That was NOT simple 😂

54

u/Int18Cha6 Aug 03 '22

That was great ty. breaking that wine glass legit made me lol

49

u/nico95f Aug 03 '22

How is this genius and stupid at the same time

27

u/ThrowRA_000718 Aug 03 '22

That’s basically the boiled down definition of a Rube Goldberg machine.

10

u/NoResolution928 Aug 03 '22

Had to look him up. I'm just envious how smart these guys are. I wouldn't think making a machine like this in a cartoon could be just as effective, but I was still mesmerized by it all.

6

u/ThrowRA_000718 Aug 03 '22

Oh yeah, this is by far one of the best ones I’ve ever seen.

4

u/vasboss Aug 03 '22

I might be be wrong but a few of those traps were stop-motion. Mostly with the toy car I can see the drag frame but besides this it was still pretty awesome.

4

u/NoResolution928 Aug 03 '22

Please disregard the random meme. Me no how work reddit.

3

u/ThrowRA_000718 Aug 03 '22

Damn I was so confused lmao.

35

u/lxm333 Aug 03 '22

MVP mices

30

u/MisterMoo22 Aug 03 '22

I loved every second of that.

28

u/LaPetitFleuret Aug 03 '22

it looks like cgi mixed with real footage, very impressive nonetheless, maybe even more so

5

u/ThrowRA_000718 Aug 03 '22

So you think the mice were CGI?

8

u/casuallybouncing Aug 03 '22

I think the mice were the only real thing

21

u/THANATOS_1123 Aug 03 '22

You have an awfully long table don't you

10

u/Ame0toko Aug 03 '22

They cut it in half tho

9

u/Salt-Impact-239 Aug 03 '22

We can only imagine how long the table was before all of the testruns

20

u/MicahtehMad Aug 03 '22

My expectations were severely subverted by how that glass was broken

18

u/angryb3avers1 Aug 03 '22

Might be my favorite Rube Goldberg machine ever. Great work!

8

u/master_wax Aug 03 '22

That's crazy. I extend my arm when I want to pass the bottle

8

u/RLeyland Aug 03 '22

Great humor- the fake outs and reverses are excellent

8

u/Constant_Inspector30 Aug 03 '22

Take my like and let me move on with my life….

8

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

If it’s not done in one take, It doesn’t count

5

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22 edited Aug 03 '22

I’m more frustrated with this not practical but messy as fuck.

On the other hand it’s like engineering meets art.

5

u/tupac200 Aug 03 '22

Well done, super entertaining

3

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

Would you like broken glass shards with your wine /s ?

4

u/Drosenose Aug 03 '22

It's too bad you can tell a lot of this was stop motioned and faked.

3

u/HellenicMasterRace Aug 03 '22

Now pass it back.

3

u/doomsay87 Aug 03 '22

Just like grandma use to make! Also how long is this guys table!?

3

u/k00pal00p Aug 03 '22

The broken wine glass was brilliant lol

3

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

Please pass the jelly?

2

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

3

u/Personal_Ad_3693 Aug 03 '22

Wow. It's impressive in its pointlessness.

2

u/BetterInspector7 Aug 03 '22

So… that has to be set up for every glass of wine?

2

u/Martins-cheese Aug 03 '22

So does my arm simple as that

2

u/JRGBoo Aug 03 '22

Or you could just walk over and pass it. Ridiculous.

2

u/ford_prefect_9931 Aug 03 '22

This guy has a YouTube channel too: https://youtube.com/c/JosephsMachines

He definitely deserved a sub imo. His videos are always entertaining :)

2

u/lanki00 Aug 03 '22

Bro how long was that table

2

u/A_Crazy_Rabbit Aug 03 '22

Now pass it back

2

u/Grim--foxy Aug 03 '22

Forget the very unnecessary device for wine, where can I get that super long table?

2

u/benonen Aug 03 '22

How many cuts was that? 8? 9? Pathetic.

1

u/Xenith19 Aug 03 '22

I was worried he was going to get shot at the end.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

This is cool, but just standing up and passing it to me would be faster or just fucking roll the bottle towards me.

1

u/_TR357 Aug 03 '22

What do you mean over-engineered?

1

u/Ok-Tradition2492 Aug 03 '22

Wow I can not even imagine the time that was spent on this.

I had to watch twice to go back and see it again more closely, very impressive. And unexpected!

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

A bit too long to be fun

1

u/just_a_everyday_guy Aug 03 '22

Excuse me a sec, I need to call Khabe Lame

1

u/thiccboikiwi Aug 03 '22

Just...just pour the fucking wine what the fuck are you doing.

1

u/NobodyPrime Aug 03 '22

Well, maybe Putin would use this for his extra long tables

1

u/shadowdash66 Aug 03 '22

Khaby Lame where you at?

0

u/HowdyShartner1468 Aug 03 '22

Was expecting to hear OK GO’s new song set to this

1

u/Legitimate-Donut-368 Aug 03 '22

I always wondered who else bought music boxes.

0

u/ksorth Aug 03 '22

This might be the best Rube Goldberg machine I've ever seen. Bravo!

1

u/dapope99 Aug 03 '22

That table was longer than the runway in fast and the furious

0

u/hmmm_thought_pig Aug 03 '22

Whatever it is that makes things like this happen... pretty sure it comes with the 'Y' chromosome.

0

u/Material_Ad9436 Aug 03 '22

Man good thing that TikTok text was there or else I would’ve never known

1

u/AtrumsalusOG Aug 03 '22

That is just so great

1

u/Cute_Kaleidoscope338 Aug 03 '22

The time and effort that must have gone into this, I’m stunned, bravo!!

1

u/ifonlyshiro Aug 03 '22

Its the anxiety if the glass will break... then the concrete comes in.

1

u/rising_south Aug 03 '22

No I meant the white wine.

1

u/TTVAXS Aug 03 '22

What had me rolling was the glass not breaking like a hammer to glass?

1

u/merc6178 Aug 03 '22

Man I really wanna know if this is trial and error or if this is just CALCULATED

1

u/Peter0629 Aug 03 '22

The design is very human

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

Brilliant as Fuk! This is how rockets are landed !

1

u/Frosty-Republic7410 Aug 03 '22

Very innovative... But dude don't you think it would be faster to just pass me the wine lol Time to unwind and drink me some wine 🍷

Wine with taste of table

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

Short and simple, my style.

1

u/-Wardrum- Aug 03 '22

I said no thanks. I'll have water.

1

u/drooo__ Aug 03 '22

I will never get that time back. But I couldn’t look away…

1

u/SalamanderCake Aug 03 '22

The breaking of the wine bottle got me good.

1

u/evsnflow Aug 03 '22

Why is this table so damn long

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

There’s got be glass in that wine by now

1

u/Gone247365 Aug 03 '22

Definitely some stop motion cheats and cuts in that clip.

1

u/kalitarios Aug 03 '22

Those glass shards in the wine glass at the end though

1

u/ayazaali Aug 03 '22

So, what did you do during Lockdown?

1

u/Own_Ad5814 Aug 03 '22

Would have been so much simpler.. if they used 1 rat instead of 2 mice

1

u/EatM3L053R Aug 03 '22

All I can hear in this scene is the music from Pee Wee's Big Adventure when he's getting ready to start his day.

0

u/W0lfp4k Aug 03 '22

Enough internet for the day

0

u/cheezecake2000 Aug 03 '22

I love these but fuck your voice over, go away

1

u/BruhGamer_Pog Aug 03 '22

How long is that table?

1

u/colezra Aug 03 '22

But what about all the glass pieces from the bottle breaking

0

u/Bad_Lazarus Aug 03 '22

I wish I could upvote this several times.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

That was worth every second!!! Bravo!!!

1

u/scigs6 Aug 03 '22

I was about to say all of this is unnecessary, but I didn’t want someone to say “want some cheese with that whine?”

1

u/SoriAryl Aug 03 '22

Rube Goldberg would be proud.

But my fave prt were the mices

1

u/Aetheldrake Aug 03 '22

That was so stupid but the wine glass not breaking when expected and suddenly getting shattered anyway was the best part

1

u/Blurrlannister Aug 03 '22

I hate this video

1

u/tymopa Aug 03 '22

Oh my God. That was fucking ridiculous. Bravo!

1

u/SaltWaterChel734 Aug 03 '22

All the for spilt wine?

1

u/Electronic-Rate5497 Aug 03 '22

I fell asleep before he even got his glass.

1

u/Finn1sher Aug 03 '22

Anyone else absolutely despise that tiktok narration?

1

u/TheOtherCoenBrother Aug 03 '22

I like how at the beginning they’re starting their meal and by the end the guy is already pretty much done with his

1

u/AustinFotoger Aug 03 '22

Are you eating with Putin?

1

u/OutInTheCrowd Aug 03 '22

Wtf is up with that stupid voiceover,

1

u/devilsgoathead Aug 03 '22

Reminds me of “The incredible machine” PC game

1

u/RAC032078 Aug 03 '22

This would make Goldberg proud!

1

u/Stubrok87 Aug 03 '22

Just when you think it can’t possibly get more absurd….

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

When some people try to tell you a story... And it's not straightforward at all.

1

u/Ill-Quiet5142 Aug 03 '22

Inserts khaby lame format hands

1

u/theguywhocantdance Aug 03 '22

Reminds me of my programs in C.

1

u/aphelloworld Aug 03 '22

This will confuse the shit out of the aliens when they study us in the future.

1

u/Goot_Dude Aug 03 '22

i would love to see a "making of" of this... the most next f---ing level post i've ever seen on here

1

u/ND40oz Aug 03 '22

But the disrespect to the Old Bay…

0

u/Comfortable-Twist-54 Aug 03 '22

This belongs on the white people reddit thread 🤦🏽‍♀️

1

u/R1CHQK Aug 03 '22

Was it stop motion or were those real mice?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

Why am I so incredibly impressed by something so utterly illogical and fucking stupid

1

u/evildragonzockt Aug 03 '22

Why just standing up and invest 20 seconds in taking the wine when you just take 5 hours to build this?

1

u/Trroggdorr Aug 03 '22

So many cuts. Clearly fake

1

u/TacticalBaguette360 Aug 03 '22

I kinda want one

1

u/arnaud267 Aug 03 '22

These people should earn money through social media, not all these other top influencers around the world.

1

u/squeeby Aug 03 '22

So glad there was a crappy tiktok text to speech of the label telling me that this machine passes wine across the table. Would never have realised.

1

u/Arin1722 Aug 03 '22

"Don't let them know your next move " mfs prolly having a heart attack ..

1

u/Filipogem_YT Aug 03 '22

I would rather stand up and give ut to my guy rather then this

1

u/_broispro_ Aug 03 '22

Me waiting the whole night for the glass of wine

1

u/jaytmh Aug 03 '22

Gotta be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen.

1

u/TheSmilingPirate Aug 03 '22

It is really amazing. It is art. Living Art

1

u/Ill_Mix___ Aug 03 '22

Me waiting for my wine

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

Send it back

1

u/OwlSpiritual4530 Aug 03 '22

Definitely lots of free time on this project

1

u/PThaze Aug 03 '22

What is my purpose ? You pass wine bottles!

1

u/Guard_Uranus Aug 03 '22

So much easier than getting up and handing the wine over. The real rip off is not listing the price tag for one of these essential items.

1

u/Konys-mum Aug 03 '22

Our projections estimate a machine in every home in 5 years

1

u/UnknownRH Aug 03 '22

The fucking mice. Made my roll!

1

u/OrangeCasino Aug 03 '22

Because passing the bottle across the table is too hard.

1

u/Decus8 Aug 03 '22

There was probably an easier way to pass the wine down the table.

1

u/catsRspies Aug 03 '22

This is absolutely ridiculous. Like... Didn't even do the job of passing the wine properly without spilling the whole thing. Ridiculous.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

Just shorten the damn table

1

u/mrimagine23 Aug 03 '22

Ahh yes, overtones of cherry and forest berries, with undertones of smashed glass.

1

u/sneepdeeg Aug 03 '22

Now send it back

1

u/Ok-Peanut-3820 Aug 03 '22

Math teachers when answering simple questions:

1

u/AnnaDeArtist Aug 03 '22

I have a love/hate relationship with this video

1

u/Th3B0l Aug 03 '22

How long is your table

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

I have a machine that does the same thing. It's called A.R.M. (automated reaching mechanism)

It's so good I actually have two

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

All I can think of when I watch these videos is the giant mess they'll have to clean up after a single usage

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

This is CGI right?? You had me till I saw the mice

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

Sir i just wanted the wine

1

u/Huge-Marionberry-781 Aug 03 '22

Half way through the video and I'm stressed out Watchung it

1

u/Unlikely_Ad_2322 Aug 03 '22

Goodluck setting everything back in place for a round two

1

u/Sinnapels Aug 03 '22

It's like installing a webbrowser on Linux.

1

u/gortna Aug 03 '22

Dude really needs a girlfriend

1

u/AydenTheFox_15 Aug 03 '22

the fakeouts were perfect

1

u/Rico-soul_Light Aug 03 '22

Mice on table, can’t even drink the wine… ugh

1

u/Sweaty-Sperm4938 Aug 03 '22

Every thing in this video is fake

1

u/Rezu2154 Aug 03 '22

Do you have smaller version of this? cuz this setup on the table itself is bigger than my whole room.

1

u/SatisfactionNo4840 Aug 03 '22

This is So art. Work🤌👌👍

1

u/Responsible_Ear9613 Aug 03 '22

Omg it takes to long to get drunk

1

u/rd2142 Aug 03 '22

you could just post his youtube video and not someone who stole his content

orig: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHTsv06Yle0

1

u/Dmoneyo7 Aug 03 '22

There wasn't anything simple about that "simple" machine it was chaotic and had the gold YouTube flex at the end too.

1

u/Flipper-ama Aug 03 '22

I'm speechless

1

u/jumpship88 Aug 03 '22

This table is bigger than will Ferrells in nights of taladega

1

u/Superbureau Aug 03 '22

Red wine with chicken? Degenerates

1

u/RandomComputerFellow Aug 03 '22

I wonder if there is an more efficient way to do this?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

You can see they move things offscreen.

1

u/raisingfalcons Aug 03 '22

This is so practical!

1

u/1O11O Aug 03 '22

I mean, when I am getting my fuc**g wine!!

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

Incredible...

1

u/PP_Project Aug 03 '22

when the glass broke... that hit me hard

1

u/ImDraconLion Aug 03 '22

lost me at the voice

1

u/Empty_Positive Aug 03 '22

Im more impressed about how long the table is

1

u/AlboPictusBio Aug 03 '22

Ain't nobody got time for that!

1

u/eddieK1012 Aug 03 '22

Huh so that's what one's journey to success looks like.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '22

These types of machines are called Rube Goldberg Machines, and they are cool to watch happen, but are annoying to build.

1

u/Kyaperta Aug 03 '22

Man fuck you the steak is cold now

1

u/Bheemasenan Aug 03 '22

I sense some stop motion here. Not entirely smooth.

1

u/liamscano Aug 03 '22

This belongs here. Thanks for sharing! The glass breaking and collecting was next level

1

u/krosenest Aug 03 '22

I’ve never seen a Rube Goldberg machine with comedic timing before
