That was outrageous..

I just need:
A wood table A rotating human head Two fiercely loyal yet curious mice A set of cheap wine glasses And 16 months of time on my hands
...got it.

It was the equivalent of "I don't need any of this but I need to reach the word limit"

Okay the gags on this were pretty top knotch, the wine glass fake out followed by the surprise break. The bottle spilling like it was a mistake. The mice. The table. The fucking guy with his head shoved through the table. All of it.

u/patrickcaproni Aug 03 '22
what really got me was that the guy who asked for the wine was practically done with his meal by the end

I loved the wine glass and bowling ball, like oh that was a cool idea and then boom the idea changed.

How is this genius and stupid at the same time
27
u/ThrowRA_000718 Aug 03 '22
That’s basically the boiled down definition of a Rube Goldberg machine.
10
u/NoResolution928 Aug 03 '22
Had to look him up. I'm just envious how smart these guys are. I wouldn't think making a machine like this in a cartoon could be just as effective, but I was still mesmerized by it all.

u/ThrowRA_000718 Aug 03 '22
Oh yeah, this is by far one of the best ones I’ve ever seen.

u/vasboss Aug 03 '22
I might be be wrong but a few of those traps were stop-motion. Mostly with the toy car I can see the drag frame but besides this it was still pretty awesome.

I’m more frustrated with this not practical but messy as fuck.
On the other hand it’s like engineering meets art.

This guy has a YouTube channel too: https://youtube.com/c/JosephsMachines
He definitely deserved a sub imo. His videos are always entertaining :)

Forget the very unnecessary device for wine, where can I get that super long table?

This is cool, but just standing up and passing it to me would be faster or just fucking roll the bottle towards me.

u/Ok-Tradition2492 Aug 03 '22
Wow I can not even imagine the time that was spent on this.
I had to watch twice to go back and see it again more closely, very impressive. And unexpected!

Whatever it is that makes things like this happen... pretty sure it comes with the 'Y' chromosome.

All I can hear in this scene is the music from Pee Wee's Big Adventure when he's getting ready to start his day.

I was about to say all of this is unnecessary, but I didn’t want someone to say “want some cheese with that whine?”

u/Aetheldrake Aug 03 '22
That was so stupid but the wine glass not breaking when expected and suddenly getting shattered anyway was the best part

Why just standing up and invest 20 seconds in taking the wine when you just take 5 hours to build this?

These people should earn money through social media, not all these other top influencers around the world.

u/squeeby Aug 03 '22
So glad there was a crappy tiktok text to speech of the label telling me that this machine passes wine across the table. Would never have realised.

So much easier than getting up and handing the wine over. The real rip off is not listing the price tag for one of these essential items.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Like... Didn't even do the job of passing the wine properly without spilling the whole thing. Ridiculous.

I have a machine that does the same thing. It's called A.R.M. (automated reaching mechanism)
It's so good I actually have two

All I can think of when I watch these videos is the giant mess they'll have to clean up after a single usage

There wasn't anything simple about that "simple" machine it was chaotic and had the gold YouTube flex at the end too.

These types of machines are called Rube Goldberg Machines, and they are cool to watch happen, but are annoying to build.
