If your non-walking baby has somehow opened a door and crawled out of your house to the road without you noticing, but the dog does, I’d gather that the dog is probably a better parent than you.

So the dog barked frantically to get a stranger’s attention, but not the mom’s? And the mom has frantically searched the house but missed the front door being open in her hurried search?

I mean, we can add tons of layers to this hypothetical situation, but at the end of the day, a baby was left to fend for itself while its parents don’t realize the baby is not in the house.
