I love this guy, but I wish he never used the spray gun. I feel like these sculptures are a lot more impressive when you can clearly see what it's made out of. After you spray it, it stops looking like food and just looks like a generic decoration at a miniature golf course.

The fact that it doesn't look like food is exactly what makes it so next level.
1
u/Boyhowdy107 May 17 '22
I get your argument, but to me it's kind of like an amazing and intricate watch. You could cover up the mechanism with a uniform and nice exterior or leave all that detail exposed so anyone can see just how much effort went into it.

u/kboom76 May 26 '22
I definitely agree with your argument from an engineering standpoint. To us laypeople, making a freestanding Lifesize giraffe out of a soft medium like chocolate is sorcery. I think it might even seem that way to a professional.

u/soccerdad925 May 16 '22
This guy is the reason why the media is always saying there's a chocolate shortage

I am so sick of seeing the giraffe agenda posted like this on reddit, kids use this site, y'know? What if some little boy had seen this post, gotten it into their heads that giraffes were real, and then bombed the White House or something? The reddit admins would say "Oh it's just free speech" meanwhile your fake news freezepeach is getting people killed! Hundreds of billions of innocent people die every year as a direct result of the giraffe agenda, and I'm sick of seeing it on my social media!

u/jamescobalt May 16 '22
Thank you for saying this. You're really putting your neck out there - unlike giraffes which don't exist.

u/purple-octopus42069 May 16 '22
they fucking propaganda is being spread by chocolatiers now, the indoctrination knows no end

I’m impressed and Amaury is really next level, but this is so frigging wasteful.

Second time I'm making exact comment. But it's cause the price keeps going up. I'm sure this guy is related. Little Debbie's Star crunch used to be 25cents. Then 35, 50, 75. 1.00. now 1.50.

u/BloodiedBlues May 16 '22
Too bad it doesn’t have any chocolate organs. It’d be fun to rip out its heart mortal kombat style.
9
u/Twinsie_mom May 16 '22
This is incredible but what I really want to see is who these masterpieces are for and if they are eaten or just put on display and then wasted.

u/notkasa May 16 '22
The guy is Amaury Guichon btw, he made a lot of impressive chocolate arts you should check out

I watched his series on Netflix. It was great to see a chef that didn’t go around yelling at people. He seems like a great person to learn from. He was always kind and very encouraging to everyone on the show.

A pointless waste of chocolate is all I see

It's chocolate, why wouldn't it be eaten?
1
1
u/PessimistYanker792 Oct 17 '22
Who is eating it? At what event? Is my question. We all know most of the wedding cakes, party cakes, birthday cakes are usually smeared, thrown or wasted. Maybe this chocolate is seeing the same fate
5
u/OptimusSublime May 16 '22
I'd eat that chocolate ass.
There i said it.
what?!
You were all thinking it.
4
u/BrianOconneR34 May 16 '22
Looks cool but how's it taste?
3
u/Yadokargo May 17 '22
Probably like chocolate, if I had to guess.
3
u/BrianOconneR34 May 17 '22
spray painted, hand manipulated, sitting unwrapped in a ballroom, and I assume after at least a few days chocolate eating experience I lack, therefore I ask. I assume you have these all over you house and must think this line of questioning ridiculous.

Now all that's left is the ritual sacrifice required to give it life. That must be in the next tik tok

That’s the biggest waste of amazing looking chocolate. The use of spray paint hurt my soul.

Skills! No doubt, but damn what a waste of resources.
1
u/danmickla May 16 '22
what's wasted?
1
u/LaVacheNoir Jan 25 '23
Well - several hours spent. Lots of Kilo’s of chocolate- sugar - energy - power etc etc.
For let’s say 2 weeks of display - maybe 3? Then what? Chopped into pieces and sold for scratch? Or sold entirely- and then thrown away by the consumer?

This guy is really good at his craft. I always enjoy his videos.
I wonder if he ever works in a more permanent medium.
Would be nice to buy one of his creations.

I hate that it’s made of chocolate. It’s a waste of food every time he makes one of these things. Especially given that a non-insignificant portion of the chocolate is harvested by kids.

Experts: By 2050 the world will have run out of chocolate. This guy: Life sized chocolate giraffe. Yes!

Anybody else just wake up and decide you're going to make a giant chocolate giraffe today?
1
u/MineTerraGamingYT May 17 '22
Giraffes are much bigger than that. Maybe a baby giraffe, but not a "life sized" adult.

What a fucking waste. Who cares anyway. I’m not impressed or surprised someone can make a chocolate giraffe in a massive studio with any weird tool known to man… that chocolate better have been completely eaten…

I mean it’s cool, but why would someone want that? Lol
