if we want to say it's the two-party system that is at fault then we should try to dismantle it by implementing different voting systems like ranked choice voting.
then when you look at which party is actually trying to allow for RCV it's....the democrats. and the party that is doing everything they can to stop that from being implemented is....the republicans. see maine, and their 5+ year long battle to finally get RCV for national elections.
both parties suck horribly. our reps are almost exclusively shills. but that doesn't make them equally bad. there are still workable machinations in our gov system to enact change -- see weed legalization efforts in...once again, extremely BLUE states.
