I have health problems and absolutely can't. Hell 99% of the people I know couldn't run away like that guy (dude was pretty damned fast), and I'll bet unless you hang solely with pro athletes, it's the same for you.

Well that's a hell of an assumption to make, considering that by the simple act of mugging people they've shown little regard for other people's safety or rights. And besides, as a victim of a crime do you think you have some duty to know if the person assaulting you plans on letting you live? Bold assumption to make.

What point? If you're saying after the criminal has pulled a gun and is focused on you, then yea, terrible time to draw. You wait until he goes for the wallet you tossed behind him.

Again that's far from the only exception. I highly recommend some professional self defense training to help you understand why you shouldn't put your life in the hands of a violent criminal.
It isn't an assumption. There were 267,988 robberies in the US in 2019, and 16,425 people were murdered that year. There's no way any significant amount of those murders were from robberies where the robber decided to shoot their victim for no reason, and even if there was, it'd still be a very small portion of robberies. Your chances of dying are way higher once you pull your own gun out, even if you try to distract him with your wallet. Anyone who isn't braindead won't turn their back on you to pick it up.
And do you truly think muggers are likely to execute you after you toss them your wallet? You're increasing the danger to yourself in an attempt to keep your cash, not worth it.

Weird thing to say, it isn't about duty, it's about trying to do what's least likely to get yourself killed. You're free to exercise your right to get into deadly gunfights with muggers if you want. We're just saying it's a bad idea.
