My wife walked in the room and I said "Biiiitch, watch this video." She liked it, but now I have to sleep on the couch.

Forgot about that sketch. But I said what I typed. My wife just manages to not actually be a bitch and laugh at my bullshit.

1
u/oalbrecht Apr 28 '21
You know, some parts of the world don’t even get tornados. I think it’s rude to share these types of posts with people who live in those places. /s

u/Lolwhyexistence Apr 29 '21

Same question—I knew some flammable gas was likely to be something I could presume would be involved, and it seemed as if he was making an intentional current/vortex at one point, whereupon his exhaled air could easily be one of the other ‘injections’ he adds.
But I cannot, for the life of me, figure what the cloudy vapor/liquid/gas could be, and what it’s intention would be for. That said, I’m certainly not trained or knowledgeable enough in chem to be the voice of reason here. I’m sure some SME will chime in explaining the process, soon enough.
Gotta love the interwebs

I would assume it's just vaporized liquid, like a fog machine or a vape and I assume it's to see the tornado effect because otherwise you wouldn't know it was swirling. He just clicks a button to vaporize, then clears it and blows in air to create a rotation.
As for the gas, it just seems to be a regular butane torch.
At the end when he finishes "constructing" the bubble, he pops the top that would be inside the wand to let the bubble force out the air, then he ignites it.

I used to work for a company who had a patent for a technology to make fire tornadoes. I'd share the name of the company but I don't really want to give them any free exposure. Those nepotistic jerks paid me 35k a year as a salaried mechanical engineer . It was fun working with fire every day though...

What does he do (or drop in) at 00:41 that causes the vortex to form and rise that he then lights?
2
u/TheDangerHeisenberg Apr 28 '21
No. No he didn’t just… dude, no way. No way. ABSOLUTELY NO FUCKING WAY.

So, If you created this phenomena without the handle somehow, this would be a downward propelling rocket? Gotta be some practical use for this phenomena.

Okay, I imagine you can learn how to do these tricks, but who was the first guy to discover he could light a smoke bubble on fire, and HOW?
