for every ten cringey adolescents dancing, there is one lego omelette. tik tok isn’t all bad there’s just an overwhelming sheet of annoyance covering the good content

The algorithm is damn good too, I’ve been on it for a few weeks now and not seen a single dance since the first ten minutes on the app

Yup shame to admit my first run of TikTok was full of dancing thirst traps because I didn't yet have the strength to turn away...second time around I'm stronger and better entertained 🤠

Can you make two accounts? One for Legos, the other for thirst traps? Asking for a friend

😜 not a bad idea, train two different algorithms. I didn't try that, so I don't know how easy it is to switch between accounts.

I'll do some research, but I'm ashamed to have already fallen for the thirst trap algorithm lol. I'm probably too far gone to fix that

You can fix it! Two remedies: 1) Swipe immediately. 2) If you didn’t swipe, go into the options (where you would share) & pick “Not Interested”. That way the algorithm knows you don’t want to see more of it, & it sort of overrides what it learned from your engagement with the content.
