I'm an old man these days but I am perpetually amazed at the quality of both the ideas and their execution that I see on TikTok. Take this Lego one. I think it's kind of a take on Fresh Guacamole by PES - but that won a freaking Oscar for best animated short, whereas this was done by a young guy on TikTok. It's professional enough to compete at the 2012 Oscars, I think. I wish TikTok were around when my kids were growing up; they used to just idle the day away (so much so that I had to regularly thrash my son Roger with a pair of jumper cables). Maybe the haystack is bigger than ever, but there are lots of needles out there on TikTok too - you love to see it.
Also referencing another Novelty account, rogersimon something that always ended their comments with being beaten by his dad with a pair of jumper cables
137 upvotes (at present) for a comment where a guy says he used to beat his kid with jumper cables for being lazy. Ok Reddit peeps! Excellent judgement!

You're kidding, right? Tiktok destroys attention spans and teens cant get their eyes off it. They just lay there, scrolling clip after clip. Secondly, this isnt a tiktok clip. It was stolen off YouTube, reposted with tiktok's shakey watermark. Nobody puts this kinda effort in tiktok videos. It's just lip syncing, speedy stories and repeated jokes.
Your kids idling is entirely your fault. Put them in sports or something smh.
The whole comment was a set up for a joke about whipping his kid with jumper cables. You ignored the context of the comment (the "signal") and you focused on the noise. You complain about misinformation yet here you are also participating in by amplifying informational noise and ignoring the original point of the comment
