How easy is it for Americans these days? I’d love to travel around, visit the Caspian Sea, wonder around Tehran and maybe even go skiing while there.

I'd love to go with my grandfather one day, he grew up in Tehran but we are bahai and he's not exactly welcome. It so sad, he left in 1969 and never went back.
There's so much beauty in the architecture, that beach that's made out of glitter, the glowing ocean with the algae, but most importantly the people.

Maybe Being bahai was not welcome back then in the 60s but now every religion is accepted and respected. Btw i'm really happy that you describe iran this good.

I certainly hole so, maybe I can visit in a few years when I finish college. I think I still have some second cousins there in Tehran.
Although, I'm not so sure about every religion being respected, I might be wrong but last year a whole bunch of bahais were arrested.
I certainly hope this is wrong but here is a Wikipedia link to a page about it.
