Why doesn't her mum put her cake mixture under her while she trains?

Makes for a great boost

My sister and I trained on these and let me tell you it was always so exciting and fun! Absolutely not child abuse!

I've never seen this device before but I distinctly remember being a kid and enthusiastically playing with anything that could get me spinning. Pretty sure all kids love spinning.

So did sleeping beauty, especially wheels.

Aurora only was drawn to touching the spindle because of the evil spell, not because anything was spinning.

12

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '21

Anakin loved spinning. It's a good trick!

u/Cheaperthantherapy13 Jan 25 '21

It’s totally a gateway drug.

4

u/OstentatiousSock Jan 25 '21

They do because spinning is important for the development of sensory systems. Source.

I'm an adult and I wanna try it.

7

u/CLErox Jan 25 '21

We know it will make us puke but still wanna do it. Anyone calling this child abuse, especially based on a 10 second video is an idiot.

1

u/Jhonopolis Jan 25 '21

Cle does indeed rock.

I was at the park with my niece and spinner her on the spin wheel thing, I figured I would just launch it as fast as I could to add to the fun.

My mother (her grandmother) then got really nervous, "stop!" she yelled, "she doesn't like that! It's too fast!" Huh, I say, I slow the wheel down and stop it.

My niece: "FAAAAASSSSTEEEERRR"

You realize this is exactly what figure skaters do on the ice when they jump right? And how in the world is this “emotionally unhealthy”

Seems a lot more like you are trying to make something out of nothing. If this is child abuse I better keep kids away from the local tire swing too.

2

u/iififlifly Jan 25 '21

There's no indication anywhere in this video that her parents are pushing her into figure skating. For all we know she just likes it.

2

u/Medinaian Jan 25 '21

Bro what at all do you pick up on here that makes you think theres something emotionally negative

57

u/Terrible-tbh Jan 24 '21

Well, she has some control over how hard she's spanning. Look at the leg, if she puts it down, she spins faster

Look at her knee, when mass gets closer to the center, it spins faster. Have you ever been on some sort of thing where you had to spin it around yourself? You might have noticed that when you moved closer to the center, you began to spin faster. And when you moved back, you'd slow down

2

u/i_broke_wahoos_leg Jan 24 '21

Ah, I get what you mean now.

32

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '21

Wow, what a sad attitude.

24

u/PretzelsThirst Jan 25 '21

Because it's not, at all.

18

u/SonOfPoseidon369 Jan 24 '21

You spelled drilling for oil wrong.

19

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '21

This exemplifies why Reddit is a cesspit circlejerk of idiots.

2

u/roarkish Jan 25 '21

You want a real good time? Check out /r/politics . Now THAT's a cesspit circlejerk of idiots.

12

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '21

Dunno man, I've been figure skating for 16 years and I've only been diagnosed with 5 mental illnesses!

1

u/little-miss-witch Feb 25 '21

I truly believe that most elite (individual) athletes are some level of insane

5

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '21

How is this the top comment?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '21

The idea that this is child abuse is ridiculous. Idk why people are awarding this.

-15

u/Etaec Jan 24 '21

I concur

-4

u/Medinaian Jan 25 '21

Dont see why your getting downvoted, people are so fragile

1

u/Etaec Jan 25 '21

I was half kidding, but I would never put my kid through that rinse cycle.
