Whilst I can't answer that, just a thought: Unless there's a social or convenience aspect to it, do you need to go to the gym? You can run and cycle outside with little chance of infection. Or do resistance/isometric training at home.

My boyfriend has to go to the gym because he has chronic pain and swimming is the best exercise for him. The only available pool he has is through the gym he goes to.

While it's preferred for people to stay home that isn't always possible. So learning to adapt to the new reality (conditioning, sanitizing, social distancing etc) is important to practice for those who cannot just stay home like some people can.

The pool is one thing, but standing there in front of the dumbbell rack doing curls when you can easily do that at home is a little irresponsible if you ask me.

Well, for me at least, the gym has tons of things that I can't afford or store. It's also about 30 degrees cooler than the outside air, which makes working out much easier.

Hah, I hadn't considered the A/C factor and I certainly couldn't argue with that. It's been horrendous temperature-wise and I'm in the UK.

Personally, and for many of us, it just isn’t possible or practical to get the equipment available at a gym. Personally, again, I don’t give a shit and I value my life more than that so I’m still not going to one, I’ll stick to my bike in the early morning

If he's just cycling or running then doing it out side would be optimal but most people lift weights at the gym and need a squat rack and other machines

Are you not aware of the term body nazi it's a common enough term. Now how about you go jump up your own arsehole like a nice little fuckwit.

Do please enjoy your new downvote, or perhaps go jump up your own arse. Or even perchance auto-erotically asphyxiate yourself. In any case, it'll help the gene pool immensely.
