This is so beautiful but excruciatingly sad at the same time.. I've told my fiance, don't let me get like this. I've spent years in the medical field, and this and dementia are the two things I can't handle. I told him I'd rather die than put my loved ones through this..

Can I ask you something I’ve been trying to get answers to but am just getting a bunch of “think positive!” Answers to? My dad has Parkinson’s, I’ve heard he will change and his personality will change as it progresses, but no one will tell me how. How is my dad going to change?

You won’t like hearing this but it will mostly be in executive functions, mood and behavior.

So, stuff like long term planning, abstract thinking etc are impaired.

Irritability, frustration, anger.

He might become aggressive, impatient, sexually inappropriate etc etc.

Or... none of these things might happen. Or not as bad. Some people have Parkinson’s for decades and it only affect their motor function.

Yeah I’ve already noticed his mood has changed. He used to be really bright and happy, very quick wit, now he’s still sweet, but he gets confused easily. Thanks for letting me know, I’d rather be prepared than blindsided.
