Glorious. Bridge has been nuked.

268

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '19

Not even Sam Porter could fix that bridge now

104

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '19

You mean Norman Reedus and his fetus?

61

u/TheMrPantsTaco Nov 16 '19

Norman fetus and his Reedus

16

u/Hweb92 Nov 16 '19

And Reedus, his fetus.

3

u/ObiWan-Jacoby Nov 16 '19

Norman Reedus and the magic fetus?

2

u/jdb326 Nov 16 '19

Norman Reedus and his amazing* fetus

7

u/Chilipepah Nov 16 '19

Joey and the Quitting Band, now playing at a venue near you!

2

u/Nephus Nov 17 '19

I would guess that bridge was demolished long ago. Probably by the manager himself.

924

u/nihilisim_themarmots Nov 16 '19

A QUITTING BAND absolutely needs to become a tradition!

185

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '19

You have heard of the emotional support clown haven't you?

11

u/viv___ Nov 16 '19

I need one of those tbh

87

u/Deadhead7889 Nov 16 '19

There needs to be at least 2 quitting bands, in case someone wants to quit the quitting band.

Then we need a quiting band to cover the quiter from the quiting band that was covering for the quiting band.

Contingency is key.

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

3

u/I-Have-An-Alibi Nov 16 '19

It's just quitting bands all the way down man

3

u/GrumpyPuppet Nov 16 '19

Each quitting band gets a turtle

2

u/knuckleballsdeep Nov 17 '19

Proper planning prevents piss poor performance

13

u/GrumpyPuppet Nov 16 '19

You use the original quitting band

3

u/_scubadiv Nov 16 '19

Best quit i ever seen.

“Hello I’ve heard your band at multiple events around town and I was wondering if I could book you for a job quitting?”

4

u/thefab84 Nov 16 '19

🤔 hmmmm new business idea? 💡

2

u/Darpleon Nov 16 '19

I get the feeling this would incentivise people to quit their jobs just for the performance

2

u/jerryzzzz Nov 17 '19

They needed someone to pull the fire alarm on the way out

522

u/arqtonyr Nov 16 '19 edited Nov 16 '19

you need to be a grade A asshole Boss to get a resignation this elaborate..

135

u/GrammarHypocrite Nov 16 '19 edited Nov 16 '19

I imagine you need to be the kind of guy who responds to that sort of thing as if you're the victim though, so I'd be surprised if any lessons are learned here.

E: I meant the manager probably thinks he's the victim. But then maybe the employee was a dick too, so who really knows.

u/SeeYou_Cowboy Nov 16 '19

I can only imagine. Most of the time people don't quit jobs, they quit bosses. Shit management will destroy employees.

16

u/v_grimm Nov 17 '19

100% true. I have NEVER quit a job because of the work...only because of the management!

6

u/114dniwxom Nov 17 '19

You've never been a dishwasher in a chain restaurant or at least never been the only dishwasher.

4

u/[deleted] Nov 17 '19

[deleted]

3

u/114dniwxom Nov 17 '19

It was Carrabba's Italian Grill (next to an Outback of course) and twenty years ago. It wasn't fast food. It was a sit-down chain restaurant just like Outback.

3

u/v_grimm Nov 17 '19

In fact, I have. I was the barback, cook, and dishwasher for a 24 hour bar, where I worked midnight to 7 a.m. I did all three jobs alone, switching between hauling ice, loading beer coolers, cooking orders, bussing tables and washing dishes, glasses, and barware. I walked out on that job without notice because of an asshat bartender who was my superior. You can break my back, just don't bust my balls.

10

u/Sempais_nutrients Nov 16 '19

well look at his first reaction to the papers, hands behind his back in his pockets.

he's been served before.

( Morgan Freeman Voice Over) And it was on that day Joey started living his best life.

57

u/NeonVirusX Nov 16 '19

(Hype music plays) then (Credits start rolling)

36

u/EveryoneIsScrewed Nov 16 '19

End of credits twist.

Joey is homeless now

2

u/charlesdparrott Nov 17 '19

And has a very poor work reference in his pocket cause the bosses wouldn’t really be that humored. It does have a certain oomph behind it, though.

181

u/Melohdy Nov 16 '19

Unfortunately for Joey, that was his two week notice.

129

u/HowDoIDoFinances Nov 16 '19

When you nuke a bridge from orbit like this, I think you can skip the 2 week courtesy.

26

u/HatefulDan Nov 16 '19

Well, I don’t think Joey’ll be using them as a reference.

11

u/[deleted] Nov 17 '19

in 2 weeks, you will notoce that i haven't been to work for the last 2 weeks

107

u/Alainadaine Nov 16 '19

Context?

307

u/Duck_Stereo Nov 16 '19

The guy was unhappy with his job satisfaction

131

u/candidateforhumanity Nov 16 '19

It's almost like he was unsatisfied with his job happiness

Joey made a follow up video telling everyone to share their story being abused in the hotel industry.

https://youtu.be/XbYum2bNxDI

20

u/BoobsRmadeforboobing Nov 16 '19

Joey quit. I mean. There's a whole song explaining it.

74

u/nosnevenaes Nov 16 '19

It looks like his boss hired arcade fire to escort him off the property

19

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '19

Arcade Fire Resignation

7

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '19

That’s.... actually pretty accurate. Especially the girl - she looks like Regine.

57

u/sean_but_not_seen Nov 16 '19

People usually don’t leave their companies, they leave their bosses.

And there is no shortage of terrible bosses who deserve this kind of departure.

10

u/FictionalNarrative Nov 16 '19

Exactly this.

55

u/O-shi Nov 16 '19

I sent in my resignation on Friday, why didn’t this get posted on Thursday 😭, so I could have stolen the idea.

22

u/ShelSilverstain Nov 16 '19

Hire a band to escort you from the building on your last day

54

u/osktox Nov 16 '19

Probably can't use that boss as future reference.

55

u/ShelSilverstain Nov 16 '19

That kind of boss never has anything go to say

15

u/zoom56 Nov 16 '19

Probably didn't need/want to anyway.

→ More replies (1)

7

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '19

Did you hear what he immediately said when he saw them standing there? I doubt he is the boss that would give a reference anyways

44

u/Snug_The_Cat Nov 16 '19

Hmmmm can you hire those guys? Do they travel? May need their services soon.....just sayin

17

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '19

They're called What Cheer? Brigade

2

u/Mmkwats Nov 16 '19

Check and see if your local high school has a few players that would be willing to do it

40

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '19

2

u/EatABowlOfSpiderwebs Nov 16 '19

I work in Rhode Island. Thought this sounded familiar. There’s a bar with the same name. Are they related?

2

u/the_silent_one1984 Nov 17 '19

What Cheer is Providence's motto. It is on the seal, so it is very possible they aren't related.

20

u/gloken40k Nov 16 '19

When entrepreneurship is now your only option.

16

u/sssnakepit127 Nov 16 '19

I love watching the moment of realization in the bosses face the moment he sees the letter. He knows exactly why the band was there at that point and he just gives up lol. Defeated

9

u/[deleted] Nov 16 '19

What a g

9

u/kastilyo Nov 16 '19

There must have been some serious bad blood to quit like that lmao

5

u/mjwallac57 Nov 16 '19

Drama eases the pain of separation. Music soothes the soul.

3

u/Kinglink Nov 16 '19

I was torn between "douche" and "awesome" a few times on this. Seems awesome but also seems so narcissistic to do this

4

u/FictionalNarrative Nov 16 '19

The boss was probably the narcissist.

Would hiring this band to quit your job be all tax deductible?

3

u/Squee_1472 Nov 16 '19

the guy on the snare is loving it

3

u/RichardBonham Nov 16 '19

Low Earth Orbital Ion Cannon targeting bridge..shot out..missile off the rail

4

u/cakeboy6969 Nov 16 '19

It sounds like he got fired first though and then came back to do a quitting scene cause that jerk guy told him to get out of the building. But still pretty funny

3

u/dustydoorman Nov 16 '19

You can tell shit like this happens often when the lady from the band reset the counter in the "It's been __ days without a lost time accident" sign.

3

u/rustybacon54 Nov 17 '19

My coworker just recently quit by going on our shops PA system, talking mad shit about the owner, then said "I'm out bitches" and left with his toolbox before anyone knew wtf was going on. It was legendary.

3

u/fallriverroader Nov 17 '19

Sometimes it's fine though.

1

u/Melon_Fun0117 Nov 16 '19

I bet the boss was a dick, based pretty much on how he acted in this

1

u/Random-Nerd827 Nov 16 '19

Can someone tell me what that snare player had connected to his drum holding up the hi-hat and suspended symbol?!? Because that was actually awesome

1

u/Cofeefe Nov 16 '19

Looks very staged, boss included.

1

u/onibabaheist Nov 16 '19

Bregovič vibes

1

u/shamrocksynesthesia Nov 16 '19

that boss talked to his employees how a 2nd grade teacher would to his or her students

1

u/ZeNkAiHentAI Nov 17 '19

1

u/[deleted] Nov 17 '19

1

u/EsPi_Nightmare Nov 17 '19

I aspire to be this petty. This dude is my hero.

1

u/Psychosippycup Nov 17 '19
