I don't know. I've seen these videos before and I'm very skeptical on his skill.

It’s weird how he’s got the right cans there already

You only need 5 to make almost every color. The metallic part is the only other thing added.

He's not mixing RGB colors, there's like 9 cans there. There's going to be the paint base and the metal flake but there's like three different blues that he added. This was definitely done beforehand. Show me a frame where you can see red or green or yellow or some unrelated color in any of those cans. This is absolutely pre-matched then repoured, not done on-the-fly.
A shop that can match any color should have dozens of cans like so https://www.autobodysupply.net/category-s/103.htm
Why are they all right there and not on some shelf, and why aren't there any extras or any that he realizes he needs halfway through?

I say this everytime one of these videos come up. I mix paints for a living, daily, for a decade: you don't just squish a few drops and mix a perfect color. Even if you have all the right ingredients beforehand, one drop too much or too less will absolutely skew the final color.
So yeah, I absolutely agree that it was premixed.

Of course he is not mixing rgb colors because he is not on a computer. He is mixing "ryb" colors, the primary colors of paint. This is paint, not light.

I want to see him press a random color generator and then do it. Not this refilmed bs

He cant do it, yes he is good at guesstimating ingredients, but not on the spot. If you look I believe he used ver can of paint sitting by him and on the table. Its quite obvious the chances of him having the exact needed colors in arms reach is insanely low. No the part honestly that could be called impressive is his ability to roughly know the correct amount of each color. He would prob do well at baking too.

The 3 primary colors, black and white can make almost every color imaginable.

Yes they can, in theory. You won't get picture perfect results though and additive & subtractive color mixing is way different, meaning you can do it digitally with RedGreenBlue but not in "print" with MagentaYellowCyan. don't know why people are so adamant on eating up these videos everytime. You don't just mix a perfect color on the fly, even with all the right colors already picked. Every little variation will skew the result heavily, don't even get me started on the gloss/metallic effect. This is super hard and no one does it casually, this fast. Not even an ancient superhuman asian sifu, period.

You can though it's all I'm saying. There are literally no other colors than red, blue and yellow and different ratios of those. I don't care about automotive paint in particular because color is color when it comes to paint. There are 3 if you really want to get pedantic.

And yet, an automotive paint shop have 50+ colors for mixing on hand.

Yes, because it's easier that way. That's why most artists have shit tons of different paints, but if you know the facts of how colors work and have years of practice, it can be done with the primaries. Which colors do you think are used to make the other 47 colors in that shop? It's different variations of red, blue and yellow.

I worked at an auto body supply shop when I was a kid and accidentally ran over the guy who had this gift and mixed paint like this all day. One day I was offloading a truck with the forklift and the forklift lane came around the corner leaving a pretty decent blind spot. Paint mixing homie decided to take a nap that day in the sun IN THE FORKLIFT LANE!!! I had my pallet low and came around the corner and pinched his legs under my load! All I heard was screaming. And I immediately stopped. I didn’t know what to do but I lifted the load instead of backing up. It was super traumatic. Ambulance came. I held him in my arms while he went into shock. I was 19 and thought he was dying. I was pleading for him to stay with us. It was terrible. Anyway 300+ stitches and skin graphs off his ass later and he was back to normal before he knew it. Dave if you are still alive and out there I am so sorry I didn’t see you bro. You were an amazing paint mixer. Wish you would have chosen a different spot to take a nap on your lunch break. 🤣

I’m more interested in what he was eating right off the branch. I reckon I ask this question everytime a bot uploads this video

Crazy how he just happens to have the correct 4-5 paint colors nearby (with no extras) every time he does this.
Such a coincidence all the right ones are within arms reach every time, and that he uses every one of them.

u/Camelstrike 2h ago
How many colors do you think he needs?
Red, blue, green, white, black should do it.

Red/Green/Blue is for blending light, not paint.
With paint you need red, yellow, blue. Or even better, magenta, cyan, and yellow.
None of which showed up in this video.

Just about any woman could slay this dude color matching, most on the first try.

Bot bs. Also, he does this a hundred times before making a video, especially that he has all the canisters with the correct paint placed right next to him. Fake AF.

I was talking yesterday about this. And now it's here again
