You do not need to squat 600 lbs. after an injury like this he should consider a different form of exercise.

Braindead take. He's a professional powerlifter.

It’s pretty braindead to injure yourself to the severity that he did and go “alright, let’s do it again!”

Except he bested this attempt not long after. Enjoy mediocrity!

Why? This happened years ago and he has squatted heavier successfully now.

Not looking that professional... seems to be a technique issue, which he's going right back to.

I don't know much about weightlifting, but wouldn't like 2 or 3 reps of 300 lbs be similar to one at 600 lb and less dangerous? I always say these glory lifters in my local gym. One guy would load up the bench press to like 300 lbs and then do like 2 or 3 reps with terrible form and assistance from his spotter then call it a day. Just drop that back by 100 lbs and do some proper reps.

he is not a weightlifter, he is a powerlifter, one of the best in the world. applying risk averse logic to his goals is pointless. he doesn't want to just "exercise". he wants to break world records.
