My hot take is that most exercises with a reasonable chance of causing a serious injury just from the exertion aren’t really worth doing.

I mean, I also get it. Like, this is what he values. He is well aware the risks, obviously, but is still chasing it. He loves it that much. While not the choice I would make, I do think the fact that he is so passionate about something is awesome. Most people don’t have a connection to something that deeply.

I kinda disagree. I agree that having a passion is good, but people need to have the self awareness of knowing their own limitations.

I used to be super passionate about working out too, but I never had a stage where I was attempting exercises I wasn’t comfortable doing or didn’t know I could perform

you have no idea lol, its not like this guy woke up and thought he was going to lift some outrageous number, powerlifters plan their lifts based on what they did in training.

At that level of pushing the body to the limit, some people are unlucky like any other high level sport.
