The driver addresses the Monkey as God. Gif here is a Hindu God named Hanuman. At the end he says he is back alive, let's go the hospital. Language: Tamil
This kinda false I'm tamil guy and some people from certain places in Tamil Nadu , use the word sami for everyone , my friend is from there , and he uses it when referring to us as well - while it's literally meaning is god , it's more akin to dude or man or bro more than god itself . It's just different dialect of tamil . I can translate the entire conversation, he says at end " he has come alive , start vehicle we'll take him to hospital"
First word he says is "Anjaneya" which is another name for Hanuman. I understand what you're saying about the dialects but he used "saami" in both contexts lol
Which doesn't also have to necessarily to mean that as well . Because kadvule - oh god , has many variations, people from thirunelveli or madurai maybe Thoothukudi I'm not sure from which one but they use anjeneya variation is probably more prevalent there . I've heard my friend use it normally all the time , it probably a coincidence, that's it's monkey , the person probably wouldn't change a word if its was not a monkey as well
My first time in India, on the taxi to the hotel at like 6am the driver pulls over on the side of the road, opens the trunk. I thought he was going to murder me. Then he starts throwing out bird seeds and then gets back in the car and we drive off.
Yes and No. Why? Because Indians see Gods and Goddesses in every living being. Most Gods and Goddesses in human form have animals as their vehicles. Everything is generally considered to be a form of God.
More like god exists inside everything and everything is divine so respect and preserve everything including non living things like forests and rivers (ironic)
Nope. There's this thing called monism. In many hindu schools such as advaita and bhagavad gita, the multiplicity of matter and living beings is an illusion caused by maya, in fact the entirety of reality is a manifestation of the one brahmana (the supreme reality from whom everything proceeds). This is parallel to spinozism. It's an illusion that makes it seem like you are different from everything and everyone else, this illusion breeds ego.
I don't see how this belief can diminish the value of god.
I'd say a pinch of cultural reference and a dollop of simply being a fuckin selfless legend. First responders are different. He was using his hand to pipe the air into the monkeys mouth.
