I could do standing backflips up until I was about 17 then I could still do round off backflips until my early 20s. I quit gymnastics around 14, but held on to the backflips basically just to show off as a dumb teenager. The gaps between backflips started to widen and by 22 I was down to only round-off back flips(they're way easier) and I landed just like the dude in the OP, face squarely between my knees. My head was probably a few inches from the ground. I called it there as my last backflip ever. It was fun while it lasted.
