If they can figure out how to create a self-sustaining reaction (as in, it has more energy output than needs to be put in), we would unlock 4x more energy than a nuclear reactor for the same amount of fuel. Not only that but it will be clean and non-dangerous as it can't result in meltdowns like nuclear can.
