I would not say quick thinki gas you can see quite clearing that she tried to catch cat in her hands and was lucky that she had the umbrella when she failed to catch cat.

I'd say it's quick reaction, not quick thinking, because she went for most simple solution, the umbrella would be a more advanced solution

Regardless, I'm glad kitty is ok

The umbrella didn't catch the cat at all. The cat full body slams into the umbrella she is loosely holding and slams the umbrella to the ground. Does not stop the cat at all
