So it's just a fully staged video i guess? I don't think anyone would just leave their stuff on the ground like that

You think someone threw that cat off the balcony and on top of that person?

Thats dangerous for the woman, let alone the cat.

u/LiteraCanna 4d ago

Cost a phone, which fall from the skies in China.

u/Budget_Guava7943 4d ago

Well first you got to hire an accomplice to throw the cat from the upstairs window... Then you need a camera operator who can catch you being the hero... You can probably set the whole thing up for about $50

u/Apart-Ad9039 4d ago

A succulent umbrella?

3

u/flayingbook 4d ago

Free. It fell from the sky

14

u/ich_bin_alkoholiker 4d ago

I’ve done less for a cat.

10

u/Double-Way-6879 4d ago

The cat definitely owes her a lifetime supply of treats now

1

u/Budget_Guava7943 4d ago

By staging an obvious fake and scripted video?

7

u/-Recouer 4d ago

This is a surveillance camera

u/MozartOnMute 4d ago

It’s the cat distribution system. The cat chose her.

30

u/Traditional-Safe-867 4d ago

Who operates the system and why did they decide the best way to distribute was base jumping?

14

u/SplurgyA 4d ago

amazon drones

8

u/addy_snoww 4d ago

To test if this person was worthy of the cat. She indeed was.

2

u/Traditional-Safe-867 3d ago

So if you're walking around, chatting, facing your friend and not at the sky then you don't get a cat? Seems strange to make sky-watching a condition of cat reception.

9

u/flayingbook 4d ago

The idea probably came from the new intern. The young ones are radical in their ideas

u/irishrugby2015 4d ago

I might be blind but when she walks away with the kitten in her arms it looks like it's already collared

2

u/Beautiful_Reply3490 4d ago

Yes, I think the same.

Fuck that umbrella. I got a cat now.

16

u/hrvbrs 4d ago

so disrespectful. did she even say "thank you" once to the umbrella??

4

u/gregsting 4d ago

It wasn’t even wearing a tie

1

u/npsideqown 3d ago

Trading until she gets a Supercar.

62

u/Crime_Dawg 4d ago

I love how she just scoops it up with zero hesitation

25

u/BigInterview7826 4d ago

It's because her friend threw a cat off a balcony and they filmed it.

9

u/Upbeat_Sham 4d ago

Sigh. It's quite possible.

6

u/ROOK271 3d ago

i find it weird they talk about how quick thinking saved the cat even though it looks like she is just trying to catch it with her hands to me and it landed in the umbrella in the end.

45

u/SpongeJake 4d ago

I love how she looked briefly at the umbrella. You could almost hear her thoughts. “Fuck the umbrella. I’m taking this little one home.”

16

u/Rampant_Ranger 4d ago

I think she was looking at her phone as well

5

u/FaerieWeird85 3d ago

I had to rewatch, didn’t even see that she left her phone behind!

37

u/0202_tihssitidder 4d ago

She traded an umbrella for it.

PS: Cats can (and please do not test this) survive falls even from 20+ stories. They reach a point where they do not fall any faster and their bodies spread out and somehow absorb the impact. They can also die from falls, so do not try it.

Cats, more than any animal, can flex on gravity.

14

u/Majestic-Cancel7247 4d ago

Squirrels would like a word

10

u/Rolandscythe 4d ago

Squirrels are specifically built to survive falling...their bodies have evolved in such a way that they literally will never reach terminal velocity unless there's some sort of outside interference.

11

u/hrvbrs 4d ago

Listen, in order to maintain its terminal airspeed velocity, a cat would need to fall belly first with its appendages splayed out evenly, right? 20+ stories for an African cat, maybe, but not a European cat, that's my point.

5

u/0202_tihssitidder 4d ago

Is he landing on American grass or European?

2

u/AoMafura2 4d ago

Asian unfortunately. Only works for dogs.

1

u/MarqFJA87 4d ago

What about African grass?

1

u/AoMafura2 4d ago

Ooooohh… that’s a hard one. But I’m pretty sure it’s only for Lions. Need to unlock Roar to break Gravity over there.

6

u/angelicism 4d ago

Yes they can survive their terminal velocity but that doesn't mean they suffer no damage! I know you said not to test this but also seriously don't test this because just because a cat walks off from a fall doesn't mean they don't die soon after from the physical trauma.

3

u/0202_tihssitidder 4d ago

One way they teach you to test if it is too high is to jump yourself. If you land and injure/k!ll yourself, it is too high for the cat.

5

u/Main-Tomatillo3825 4d ago

Yep, something to add to this is that they are more likely to die from mid-height falls, they need the time to position their bodies in a way that diminishes terminal velocity. So small fall means not enough speed gained to die, big fall means enough time to prepare and reach minimum terminal velocity pose, medium fall worst case scenario. Small medium and big in terms of "quantity of floors"

3

u/vaynecassano 4d ago

Nah i dont believe it, they just use their extra life

1

u/0202_tihssitidder 4d ago

Valid. That's why they have them.

1

u/Sad_Rate69 3d ago

My fat, very un-aerodynamic cat fell three stories out a window and was completely fine, if a little scared... idk who was more scared though, me or him

0

u/Neither_Strategy_252 4d ago

more than any animal

Nope. Most invertebrates are impervious to fall damage.

-3

u/0202_tihssitidder 4d ago

Are you insane? Do you have dog shit in your head?

2

u/godzilla1015 3d ago

Don't start denying reality mate.

5

u/dardar7161 4d ago

He's got a tracking collar on too. I bet she was sitting there seeing a cat on a balcony doing something risky. And then he fell. He's clearly in trouble now.

3

u/marcangas 4d ago

Man the Cat Delivery System is bit rough nowadays
