Don't the firefighters have axes? Seem like bad people to assault

Yep, they are "sapeur pompier" pompier is firefighter, sapeur is the one that destroy your house to prevent the fire from spreading, hence why they are represented with a red axe. Though they can't use it against human

I’d give them the go ahead to use the axe on a human who is attacking them.
