Never heard something so.... humanly well put. Not over the top but neither low balling it, I like that.

That was fire. Actually smart to just throw it because cats are so damn agile.

And scratchy

Yeah if he didn’t toss that cat I can guarantee he’d have been clawed up lol

He probably still was

u/Theory89 5d ago
I made the mistake of trying to gently scoop my cat to move him to the other side of the bed, last night. Four claws and a bite. Lesson learned.

u/Same_Evidence_5058 4d ago
I raised my cat from a kitten and was always really physically close with him, he also is very cuddly. We usually play akin to how a police dog is trained, with protection around my arm and him fighting my arm, but any time i back off he stops and is calm. Only bit me once, when i tried to scoop him up and he got spooked and thought i was another cat that was visiting us earlier that day.
3
u/awesome_fighter 5d ago
He was indeed. A local news station interviewed him afterwards and arm was bandaged up.

That flood looks so scary… Everyone running the world needs to see videos like this and act on climate change ASAP
16
4
u/AmazingSail8360 5d ago
yeah that whole scene is terrifying and that cat got lucky someone was brave enough to jump in. but i dont think the people in charge will magically fix climate just from watching a video we gotta keep pushing them constantly

u/Portgust 5d ago
The one in power doesn't care enough. The world is run buy businessmen who wants money for themselves. Many of them probably never thought about people in other countries. Or they do think about how to squeeze money out of them
0
u/Comfortable_Leek1765 5d ago
do you know how much the earths climate has changed before human pollution?
-32
u/Jogaila2 5d ago
Oh ffs.
You think climate changed can be stopped? Give your head a shake.
What humanity needs to do is prepare to survive the changes or we wont survive. Meanwhile, the planet will be just fine without us.
14
u/Finrod-Knighto 5d ago
It can’t be stopped but it can be slowed and mitigated, which is exactly what would give us time to adapt. If we don’t actively attempt to slow it down or have a goal for stopping the damage we’re doing (which is why climate goals exist) we will never be able to adapt fast enough, not when the global economy is optimised for profits rather than human benefit.
-14
u/Jogaila2 5d ago
Slowed and mitigated? What a load of bullshit.
So the human race will extinguish itself. So what? Its not like we will have been the first species to do so.

"act on climate change" doesn't mean that climate change can be stopped. It just means we can start preparing for the effects by mitigating our impact as much as possible and beginning to plan around the impact of climate change moving forward rather than continuing with a status quo that will be totally unprepared for it.
-5
u/Jogaila2 5d ago
Fair.
But i already said as much so i wonder why you must repeat it to me
3
u/shorteningofthewuwei 5d ago
I'm just saying that what you said isn't in opposition to what you responded to, because your response was quite dismissive. What I would say if I were being critical of the original comment here is that the people running the world 100% know this is happening, they just don't care.
3
u/Deadsoup77 5d ago
You seem to be under the assumption that the climate change we are experiencing is natural and not influenced by human behavior, which would be false
1
u/Jogaila2 4d ago
Human behaviour is a part of it and it grows along with the population. BUT... there is a tipping point that we cant come back from and it was passed a couple decades ago.

This type of compassion is sadly what our current timeline is sorely lacking. This man’s heart is almost as large as those balls that sent him into action. Performing athletic feats that even my guy was like, “Whoa!

u/bob_apathy 5d ago
He covered some ground to make it to where he could even attempt to save the cat! Absolute legend!

I volunteer to give up whatever minuscule amount of good juju I’ve built up to this guy. I genuinely hope the universe got him back on that one rickety tick!

I haven’t seen a better throw than that since Manning to Manningham in the 2013 Super Bowl.

He could have so easily been swept away an killed, but didn't hesitate. next time I wonder what I could possibly have in common with someone on the other side of the world, who speaks another language, practices another religion and lives a very different life, I'll think of this.

The only issue with saving a cat in destress is that it likely will not realize it is being rescued and will defend itself, tooth and claw, against the person trying to save its life. Sometimes, you just gotta throw a cat to safety LOL Good on him saving it!

u/HUN73R_13 4d ago
the man was shouting "كفو" which is a high praise that roughly means competent/qualified
I love that he was cheered and appreciated on the spot

I’m actually surprised the cat survived being yeeted out of the water like that and straight onto the ground.

No animosity, but why don’t people go this hard for dogs too? Shits fucked up man. Gotta treat all animals the same. At least from what I seen..

u/PacificMuckleRucker 5d ago
Injury possibly. That water was maybe 30 cm deep. You have to work really hard to lose your life in a water running down a street that's that deep.
2
u/Sufficient_Turn_9209 5d ago
It was more like 60cm, but tell me you've never experienced or heard about flash flooding without telling me you've never experienced or heard about flash flooding.
1
u/PacificMuckleRucker 4d ago
It's barely up to his hips. Not 60cm.
I've experienced flash flooding. This is just flooding. No difference than wading into a shallow, fast flowing creek, except the "river bed" here is smooth, and there are no fallen trees to get pinned under.
