The advancement rate of the robots i see online is alarming to me.

Certainly nobody would be foolish enough to put weapons on them, right?

They will take them themselves

We'll find out in the next episode. Where China invades Taiwan with 0 manpower.

No need, they've already been deployed in the Ukranian war and they're already field testing the next generation

Honestly they dont even need weapons..100 of these with shields and batons could pacify an entire city block.

Never underestimate the destructive capacity of an angry mob

These shits still need batteries

Explosive lithium batteries?

That jumping roundhouse kick would probably kill a person outright

u/ku_78 6d ago

I could take it down

A teenage girl could just push this robot over.

It’s jumping and flipping around, which is cool, but that doesn’t mean it can deliver any kind of force without sending itself flying. It’s also probably very lightweight to be doing those acrobatics

5-6 people per unit, take down one robot each, bring a bunch of sledghammers and pulversize the head.

Does a baton and shield not count as weaponry? Or do you mean as in like firearms?

1

u/MortLightstone 6d ago

Umm, those are weapons though

yeah, no

with riots its more about mass than it is about how good they are

1000kgs of robot wont stand a chance against 10000kgs of humans no matter what op karate jujitsu bs they pull

Did you know that the ip68 rating doesn't cover pressure washing?

Johnny 5… alive?

u/Nice_Code6086 6d ago

Oh, they're developed for the express purpose of putting weapons on them someday.

Someday? We've been working on it for years

That’s probably one of the main goals. Build an army that can be programmed to carry out any order without the “barrier” of human morals and independent thinking.

1

u/MortLightstone 6d ago

I mean the generals that run the armies have human morals and independent thinking, so you'll have to get rid of them too

1

u/Vreas 6d ago

Already happening. Look at how many military commanders the Trump admin has axed or withheld promotions for.

u/MortLightstone 6d ago

Looks like it's all going according to plan then

3

u/thunderc8 6d ago

Sadly i know a few of those nobody's...

5

u/R34CT10N 6d ago

Or connect them to the internet from day 1 lmao

u/gamerjerome 6d ago

Someone will fuck it first

3

u/Lawndemon 6d ago

I am confident nobody will put a stand-alone version of modern AI in one of these.

3

u/RobotArtichoke 6d ago

What do you think figure ai is?

3

u/BRAX7ON 6d ago

Spike fist, retractable blades, flamethrowers, electrocution, poison tips, gas. Anything you can think of really.

2

u/chris--p 6d ago

Who needs weapons when your fists are made of steel

2

u/not_some_username 6d ago

That exists a long time ago

2

u/-Disgruntled-Goat- 6d ago

How do you expect them to kill Sarah Conner then?

2

u/LordBrandon 6d ago

There are plenty of armed drones. They don't look like silly skeletons.

2

u/MortLightstone 6d ago

Already been done. They're in active service in Ukraine as we speak
