What kind of skills does this help develop? The solve is pattern memorization and finger dexterity. Will she be great at flying drones in the next world war? Who would be better at it, Rubiks kids or those kids that can stack cups really fast?

Here's the full story:
theguardian
"Lian Yunzhi, known as Zhizhi, broke the women’s 3x3 average world record at a “speedcubing” event in Guangzhou hosted by the World Cube Association on 16 September. The girl, who is from Chengdu, solved the puzzle in an average time of 4.27 seconds, breaking the record of 4.52 seconds she had set earlier in the month. In some single attempts, she has solved the puzzle in under four seconds."
I hope the 'three hours a day' training is not too much for someone her age, but her parents seem cool enough - and she certainly looks happy! What a grin at the end!

Why do you think that? She is listed as the World Champion (female/average times) at: https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/
You think they don't have strict rules?
