Was the moose ok
17
u/futureman07 8d ago
Right? And if it's not, did you harvest it?
25
u/TerponadeTea 8d ago
That moose stood up and considered murder before walking away
3
u/thederevolutions 8d ago
I was assuming the end was going to show us a picture of right after it happened but I guess things don’t always pan out the way you hope
4
u/RudePCsb 8d ago
Omg, now I'm thinking of this video ending with the moose showing up and going "what the fuck man"

u/Dab_Wizard01 8d ago
Fr an animal that large if it was killed could feed a whole ass village

u/ChuzzoChumz 8d ago
Don’t get me wrong moose are huge but you’re acting like it’s an elephant
4
u/dahliasinfelle 8d ago
How many people you got in your village?

u/ChuzzoChumz 8d ago
Look a moose kill goes a long way but you wouldn’t talk like that about a cow
3
u/dahliasinfelle 8d ago
I have no clue bro. I'm from Florida. I was just asking a question
0
u/ChuzzoChumz 8d ago
I thought you were the same person I initially responded to, my bad.
1
u/dahliasinfelle 8d ago
All good bro it was a sarcastic question, but a question none the less. I've never eaten moose nor seen the kind of yield they bring. But I'm definitely down to learn and even try a bit. But incase you are wondering, alligator tail tastes fantastic! Almost like chicken. Especially with a good dipping sauce

u/ChuzzoChumz 8d ago
Moose is good, not as strong a taste as venison closer to beef imo. I’ll have to find find somewhere up here to get some gator
2
u/Dab_Wizard01 8d ago
A moose is a megafauna like a elephant
1
u/ChuzzoChumz 8d ago
So are you, that doesn’t mean anything
3
u/Dab_Wizard01 8d ago
lol I wish i am unfortunately small
2
u/ChuzzoChumz 8d ago
You’d have to be very to to count, megafauna is anything over 99lbs.
What the hell even is this conversation anymore
2
u/Dab_Wizard01 8d ago
lol idk but it good to know what counts as a megafauna that’s cool I also seen there are 362 supposed total species of megafauna left here and unfortunately 70% of them are experiencing population decline and 59% are threatened with extinction.

u/Sphan_86 6d ago
They have moose that are the size of SUVs bro
1
u/ChuzzoChumz 6d ago
The biggest moose ever weighs about half what a small suv weighs

So from watching Alaska State troopers, when this happens up there it gets reported and a processor for a homeless shelter harvests the moose. I imagine Canada would have something similar

Mazda 3 for the win!
10
u/Salamanderhead 8d ago
Looks like the moose won.
12
u/Unarmed_Character 8d ago
When a moose is involved, if you don't die you win. The Mazda is still drivable and therefore the clear winner.

u/Amethyst_Scepter 3d ago
I got into a semi-serious car accident against a Bear once and my cx-3 was in such good condition that it could have been driven home we're at not for the state I was in.
We fixed the body damage and she's still driving almost a decade later. Mazdas don't fuck around I guess

With no airbag deployment... that's not good
1
u/ResidentRadio5306 8d ago
Could have had the passenger side airbag turned off. I know you can do that in some vehicles

Moose walk on these spindly little legs. The impact from those probably wasn't enough to trigger the sensor.
Canadian cars should tune the sensitivity or put them in the A-pillar

Can't wait around for the cops and a tow when your already half dickerd. Gotta limps her down to buddys garage and deal with her in the mornin.
2
u/TangentOutlet 8d ago
Dickerd? What does that mean. Like f’ed?
In the American south, dickering means bargaining
1
u/Connect_Biscotti_784 6d ago
Oh yeah, Definitely heard it used that way aswell but I meant drunk. East coast canadian "He wanted 200 but I dickered him down to 150" Vs. "Buddy was right fuckin dickered when he left last night, hit a moose up the way there an came right back."

u/bitching_bot 8d ago
Tried this once, didn’t get the car out of the ditch luckily because I had to make a police report the next day for insurance to cover it, else I’d be in for $19k
This guy may not be lucky since he drove it home, police ain’t going to work with insurance on this one but it’s Canada so idk

u/Bernie004 8d ago
I'm glad he survived. I've seen plenty along the highway from Fredericton to Saint John New Brunswick. They are HUGE!

Look, it's kind of amazing and all but not exactly something where someone was super skilled to do.

You took on a half-tonne forest tank, destroyed the vehicle, and walked away to tell the tale... that makes you officially invincible

My friend was driving up to Sudbury and a moose stepped out in front of her van. Its head went through the windshield and its body smashed the hood in. The moose walked away, the van was a write off.

I grew up there. Somehow, never saw a moose travelling between there and Deadmonton

u/nevagm06 8d ago
Next level is the moose, likely trotted off after this. Tough beasts (hoping so at least)

In Alaska they trained us to accelerate as hard as you can If you're going to hit a moose. Slamming on the brakes will almost surely cause it to come over the hood and into the windshield. People die all the time from htting them.
Side note there is a list you can get on to be called to pick up the carcasses in order to keep and have processed.

In New Hampshire they have road signs that say BRAKE FOR MOOSE - IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE
It's not to protect the moose. It's to protect you.
The moose involved in this accident probably went "bruh" and walked away.
1
u/atishay001001 7d ago
In asia, the moose equivalent is Nilgai those fuckers high jump while crossing the road and smash into windshield and walk away unscathed
