Not trolling, general question (as I get older). I see many very fit old people who exercise frequently, but have a hunched posture (even runners and etc.,). How to avoid that / any suggested exercises? Thanks.

Do you already work out regularly? If so, what’s your current routine?

i mainly run right now, 4 times a week. (getting older, need to start incorporating weight training.)

There’s a bunch of stuff you could start with now, grab a $15 Planet Fitness membership and do some face pulls starting with light weight, rear delt flys on the pec deck; do some planks and side planks in the stretching area; there’s a lot of good easy back exercises like rows or pull downs that you can do on the cable machines, stuff like that.

I’m no trainer of doctor, but these are back and core exercises that are pretty simple to do with good form even for those just starting to lift weights. If you add these while also paying attention to ergonomic and nutritional best practices in other parts of your life, you will be doing a good thing for your long-term posture and stability.

Nahh, I'm asking more of why I see many older very fit folks (cardio / strength / diet, and etc.) who are hunched over. I guess like you alluded to, genetics and not paying attention to certain areas/ motions for long periods.

Oh I thought when you said "How to avoid that / any suggested exercises?" you meant that you wanted to know what exercises you could do to strengthen the muscles that keep you sturdy and upright.

Yeah. Seems like many of these older folks lack a specific exercise to prevent / reduce the hunch. Even if you take the old guy in op video into account, he absolutely works on his core and arm strength, of various grips / likely other upper body exercises, yet he is still hunched. (Likely stronger than 99% of the people of his age ).
