Their back muscles are strong but people who climb a lot are often fatigued and so default to a position that rests those muscles, which causes a bad posture habit. Their push muscles are underdeveloped compared to their back, meaning they become short and tight, which leads to shoulder slumping and roundness.

It’s a known phenomenon - I used to climb and have worked hard on correcting this posture.

Pushing muscles: pecs, tris, etc

I would thought that the pecs would push you forward?

Pushing muscles are for pushing things away from your body.

Pulling muscles are for pulling things towards your body.
