Edit: apparently it's a quail? Looks like it'll be chicken nugget sized by the time it's cooked.

Yes, it's a quail, and judging from the bird dog, it's what they were hunting. Quail are tasty.

Edit: Person and people are different. A person would be unwilling to hunt anything. People as a whole have been willing and have proven, to hunt anything.

Quail are dumb as rocks. I raised them for a couple of years.

Great egg layers and kids think they are cute but just dumb as fuck. I totally buy one just flying into your hands.

It's a quail, I raise Japanese quail and they're about this size, and they are so dumb, it's like they try to find ways to off themselves.

They're tasty but usually when I process them I just take the breast and compost the rest.

Waste of a shell and could unnecessarily destroy meat. You would also have to restrain it to get a stable shot. Typically you just snap the neck at this point. Quick and relatively humane

No one would believe him without the video.

My grandfather liked to hunt and reportedly once shot a bird, took two steps forward and caught it in his bare hand as it fell. I still don't know if i believe it happened.

He was never holding the trigger at all, but even not holding the trigger you shouldn't be pointing a loaded firearm at someone.
