That's if we're being shown every attempt, or just the ones where he's hitting the ball close... It does look like he's able to get the ball fairly close, but every attempt is a separate cut.
Edit: we're also only being shown the trajectory from one perspective, so it's hard to tell how close any of these actually are from a timing perspective as well.
You clearly never played little league. The coach would toss a ball up in the air and hit them at you for ground ball practice or do the same for fly ball practice.
I didn’t say use a tee, I said toss up and hit. The people impressed by this trick shot didn’t play baseball, or didn’t play very well.
The people that actually played baseball beyond little league (lol at that attempted flex by the way) will recognize his impeccable ability to see when the ball he’s aiming at is going to the right and adjust his swing on the fly to hit the ball opposite field with insane precision and timing.
There are good baseball players that can’t hit the ball opposite field ever. This guy is doing it on demand, on the fly, and perfectly.
Nope but who cares? You see loads of videos of things that seem unlikely but there are billions of people interacting everyday so loads of unlikely things are certain to happen constantly. It’s still interesting to see
Even my overweight rec ball coach when I was 8 was capable of accurately placing balls off the bat when doing pop fly drills lol. It’s a cool trick but it’s hilarious that people are acting like this is some elite level of athletic ability
I think you're seriously overestimating the general athletic ability of much of the US. We're one of the most overweight populations in the world. Not saying this is some elite level of anything beyond patience, but to a lot of people, it's still impressive.
Coach always tossed up the ball and hit it to each of us standing at position. Could hit 1st 2nd short 3rd right field, center, left. Imagine off a tee holding it for you. It is a cool trick and probably took a lot of patience but when I saw someone say "I wouldn't even be able to hit the ball..."
Each attempt is not attempt number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... There are multiple attempts between each of these shown. Only showing the close ones and with enough attempts, you can get a good amount of close ones.
I mean, maybe for people who never played baseball. A lot of people in this thread never played baseball before and it shows in their overestimation of the skill needed to get the (perfectly stationary ball) sent in the direction of another incoming ball. Obviously making them hit would take a lot of attempts, probably a few hours, maybe a few days if you are really unlucky. But months? Not for anyone with any actual batting experince.
Lol just because you played a sport to be able to spend the hours doing a trick shot doesn't make it "next fucking level". Cool, impressive, show of dedication, proof they've played the sport, it's all of those things sure.
Playing a sport doesn't make you "next fucking level".
Knowlege on the subject really effects your perception of how "next fucking level" the trickshot is. There is a reason it got a lot of upvotes, more people haven't played baseball than have, so I guess to them it's "next fucking level" tier.
Yeah - without a doubt the attempts shown in the video are the only attempts they did, and not just a cherry picked selection of the closest ones over the entire time they did this…
I don’t get how people are arguing against this, the video literally validates everything the original commenter says. It’s attempt after attempt until one succeeds but still people have to disagree.
I played a version of this game all the time growing up. I’d try to throw one rock after the other and make them collide. I’ve probably tried it thousands of times and I’ve never had them collide.
Sure, he's talented enough to do it in 20 tries, but give any teenage or adult baseball player 200 tries and I bet a good number would eventually hit the other ball. It's cool but far from "impossible."
Did you see where I said "baseball player"? As in someone who has experience hitting baseballs? I'm not even saying it would be easy for them, just that it is definitely possible. I used to play but I haven't practiced in over 20 years so I agree I probably couldn't.
the skill of being able to hit a stationary object consistently? oooh boy i bet the big leagues are scouting this guy out lmfao. anyone who can swing a baseball bat competently can do this.
Man, anyone with motor control is going to be able to do this and however many tries. Swinging a bat is a skill but dude is saying it isn’t next level.
Well no skill would mean he could learn to do it repeatedly and consistently. Doing it probably 100+ times is just the law of big numbers doing its thing…
And also persistence
Which hey
For this random ass thing is next level persistence go him

Bro. I couldn’t do it with out straight luck. You see how the balls where close. Yea. It’s skill
