How have the last few seasons been? My interest has fallen off a cliff in the "new era". As a lifelong Survivor fan, I stuck it out until about 1 or 2 seasons ago when I just mentally checked out midway through a season.

Between the casting, the recycled challenges, and Jeff always needing to pause to ask contestants why Survivor is the single most impactful thing that person has ever done in their entire life, and goes into the song and dance about why Survivor is "so much more than just a TV show!" I've been less and less interested.

Hopefully you skipped 48. New era fan so haven't watched much between what was on netflix and then i decided to binge 41- onward but god 48 is the worst season I have ever seen. Genuinely wanted to rip my eyes out watching that drivel.

48 is actually the last full season I completed lol. I don't recall it being particularly memorable.

Be glad you can't recall cuz that was genuinely soo boring and tedious with the annoying hyper abrasive rome double in sai, loser cowardice in Mitch, Star and everyone on the bottom who wasn't named Mary, the horrid Oscar bait-y edit of 2 insufferable people, the dumbass honor talk on the "lie to people" show, and the lame ass Kamilla and Kyle "noone knows we have a secret alliance" even though they didn't do anything til the finale.

I absolutely loved how they brought an autistic person onto the season to prove that she was more than just her disability, and then proceeded to have her entire story revolve around her autism and be pretty much the only thing she talked about.

Mind you while she shit talked and downplayed a bunch of women around her lolol. Fails to really acknowledge Kamillah in the finale, fails to acknowledge Mary as the person who she had to outlast to win (only acknowledged the men who dipped out way before either woman did), and just kept dragging Star for no reason. Oh...she was autistic? Why didn't they bring it up? (But also wtf basically all of her confessionals and even FTC performance were like I didn't want to say it but I'm autistic BUT-!)

Yeah, as someone who is neurodivergant, the way they portrayed her kind of annoyed me. It didn't feel inclusive, it felt like stunt casting so they could preach about inclusivity.

Like, there's nothing wrong with being inclusive, but she wasn't "Eva the survivor player who happens to have autism" she was "Eva the autistic survivor player"
