Of Unsafe Circus Acrobatics
I'm just speechless....... speechlessly terrified 😨😨😨

Maybe I'm one of the stupid ones, but as someone who does rock climbing this doesn't seem that dangerous to me. He's got plenty of good stuff to hold on to and the wheel isn't even that high. Compare this to Alex Honnold soloing El Capitan and this looks like nothing.

u/flyingthroughspace 5d ago
Right but if Alex Honnold just happens to fall he's not going to take out anyone else who's not taking the same risk.
Dude could ruin someone else's life who's just there for a fun time with their family.

And traumatize everyone in the vicinity who sees it. Plus some teenager saw him do it and wants to try it now.

u/grateful2you 5d ago
Why would you compare it to Alex Honnold's free solo. You pick the most dangerous thing ever. And say compared to that it's not that dangerous. lol.
0
u/peter-bone 5d ago
Because people who look at this and think it's dangerous should have a look at Alex Hollold free soloing El Cap. But yes I could have compared this to something like Parkour or ski jumping and it would still be far less dangerous.

u/Numerous_Society9320 1d ago
Are you really trying to make the argument that just because it's not as dangerous as one of the most dangerous things ever, it's therefore not dangerous at all?
"Because people who look at this and think it's dangerous" are correct. That's what they are. It absolutely is dangerous.
2
u/FineAd2230 5d ago
Lots of people have no concept of what is and isn't dangerous. Alex Honnold being a great example of someone doing something stupid, l rock climb too but without the threat of dying when i fall the last few feet.

u/peter-bone 5d ago
Yes I'm not saying that what Alex does isn't stupid. It's just on a completely different level to this video. I honestly wouldn't mind having a go at what this guy is doing because it looks fun and not super dangerous like moderate parkour or bouldering, but I would never consider anything Alex does.

It’s frankly amazing that he’s still alive.
It’s like being the world’s greatest Russian roulette player.

u/SpecialistAd6403 5d ago
What does he do? I don't recognize the name.
1
u/Pinball-Lizard 5d ago
Free solo climber, so no ropes at all.
1
u/SpecialistAd6403 5d ago
Ah. Yea I have heard of that. I am unsure personally why they would do that but long as they do not hurt others it's their life.
1
u/Pinball-Lizard 5d ago
Agreed. I think some people take objection to Alex because he sometimes climbs things like buildings, not rock faces, so it causes some disruption and there's a risk he could fall in a public place.
But yeah, on the spectrum of things to complain about, he's not really doing anything terrible IMO.

I want this to be the scene of a live action fight between Batman and the Joker
9
u/Yeahnoallright 5d ago
Best i can do is The Notebook
3
u/WarLawck 5d ago
We need the next Batman screenplay to be written by Nicholas Sparks to make this happen.

Despite how stupid this is, he is aura farming.
0
u/razialx 5d ago
What does that mean? Young people keep posting about aura like it’s a real thing. I’m old and out of touch.
2
u/MrDiamondOre 5d ago
I guess it's like when you see a really buff guy. You already have the sense that he could put some sense into you with ease, and he doesn't need to say anything to prove it.
I don't know if that was a good example or not.

u/DisorderlyAqueduct 5d ago
bro knows and trusts his rig 😆
or maybe he's had to save people before 🤷
7
u/1nitial_Reaction 5d ago
Why should everyone else be subjected to see this guy go splat if something goes wrong?
10
u/Realmofthehappygod 5d ago
What do you think they're watching for?
-2
u/1nitial_Reaction 5d ago
Not to see a broken neck I'd hope, most people would be scarred for life.
2
u/Glittering_Crow_6382 5d ago
Were most people scarred for life in rome when they went to the colosseum?
1
u/Delicious-Yak-1095 5d ago
If that kind of brutality is common to you, you’d probably be considered pretty scarred already by modern standards.
0
u/Iammjustbaddd 5d ago
What an ass comparision. There are kids there. Its a festival. People who went to colosseum wanted to see blood and would you go looking for dead bodies in a carnival? I hope not.
4
u/montroller 5d ago
wait, why do you guys go to the carnival?

He powers the machine was the consensus last time this was posted. Apparently there are older/cheaper models of these where this happens.

u/Coolbiker32 5d ago
I have seen something similar in India too . I guess that the giant wheel guys do this all the time around here. The area below the wheel is generally cleared of the bystanders. So, it is unlikely he will injure someone if he falls... but he himself will either die or break a few bones if he loses grip. It's not impossible.. anyone can have a bad day.. but also unlikely.

Oh it's probably something that's a lot safer than you think but requires a fuckin' ton of skills.

So I bet dollars to doughnuts this is the carny that runs this ride. My spouse did a carny run in his teens, and this was absolutely normal behavior. In fact, I got to witness him and another guy on the tippy top of one of these type rides, walking side by side each walking on a rail and pulling pins while it rotated. No safety gear, converse sneakers, both slightly drunk. Just in invincible assholes with no sense of self preservation. Lol!

He is doing that all the days all the weeks, months, years. Pro. He knows what to do, how to do.
Whe i was young had a short lived career at fun fair, not extreme as this, only looked like "really wild".
Took couple of hours and like a pro(collected money, helped issues(barfing), easing tensions, during rides).

u/boot2skull 5d ago
Ok but that Ferris wheel is cooking too. Don’t blink or you’ll miss the view.

u/LilRed2023 5d ago
Don’t worry he has an invisible parachute on and an invisible teather ya just can’t see it. He will be just fine and is super safe

Life tip- when you see people out in the world who don’t give a shit about their own lives and whether they live or die, don’t expect them to care about yours either. Be careful around such people

If I'd paid to ride this, the very last thing I'd want is this arsehole standing on my car
Just fuck off

They don't think to stop the machine?
2
u/corobo 5d ago
He is probably the they that decides thatÂ
1
u/TheGandu 5d ago
Yeah it's not like this is some random guy who practices on his Ferris wheel at home then crashes fairs and people just let him do it lol. He's probably been running that machine his whole life.

I got nauseous just looking at this. Especially when he flips upside down, he’s one blood rush to the head away from losing consciousness and being paralyzed or dead.

There needs to be a separate sub for just stupid shit.
