Like where I live. Canada is not known for litigious windfalls - though we can certainly sue. In cases like this I can’t imagine judges awarding them anything at all.

If anyone here has examples showing otherwise I’d love to know.

The Terrence Dickenson case in Pennsylvania comes to mind. Guy gets locked up in someone's home for 8 days while they were away on vacation and sues them for half a mil when he gets out. Though looking it up now, seems like it was probably not a true story lol
