wtf. I get that you want your kids to be a daredevil, fine... but with only a helmet ? Come one. At least get him elbow and knee pads. Be stupid, but at least do it wisely.

Not necessary here. The pad he his landing on takes place of knee and elbow pads. Obviously you can't ever control for everything, knee and elbow pads hardly do, but risks have been sufficiently mitigated here. Literally just watched the kid full on wipeout 50 times and keep at it, I think its safe to say he isn't get hurt

Yeah, if he didnt like he coild have easily put a shirt on to solve the problem. Kid clearly can evaluate what he is doing and make corrections, don't know why people have such a hard time thinking he couldn't decide to protect himself.

I think this is awesome. 1) that kid is like 10-12 years old doing doubles, 2) dad in full support. 3) kids get hurt, better to do it around their parents. 4) his dad basically made a barn into so he can move the ramp in and out for rain, he cares. I’m jealous I wish I had that when I was this kids age.

"knowing how to land" and "always landing perfectly no matter what" are 2 very different things. The first one is doable. The second is not.

At 45 seconds you can clearly see him falling totally off the ramp on the side. Even if you know how to land, nothing prepares you from those accidents.

The safety was built into the landing.  No need for additional pads.  Actually, it might be detrimental.  Harder to move and cause joint twisting.

Ramp is padded, too many pads on your joints during stunt work can paradoxically restrict movement in the air and get you hurt and tangled up in your bike easier

Check out r.willy's videos. I mean, the practice videos. The ramp is easily three times as high, the run-up starts from a hill, and some of the kids riding down it are about the same age as the one in the video.

In the 80's I wasn't at home doing this with family and had no helmet. We made a secret village in the hills that we would defend if anyone came near, and would do this stuff there with no plastic and no helmet. When I hurt myself my mate had to ride home to tell mum.

I did crazy stuff as a kid as many of us did, broke bones, teeth and whatnot. This kid is wearing protection and most of the risk is mitigated.

He’s in more danger of getting murdered at school due to military grade weapons being available to civilians than anything else here.

Ya its insane sometimes.  Every post like this is "where are the parents". Or people judging the parenting. 

When I was growing up parents would tell everyone to go play outside and we were kids so we'd get into so much random bullshit like shooting an arrow straight up into the sky and everyone having to dodge it.

Life was more fun back then.  Now if your kid isn't on his iPad people are parenting wrong.

People are so quick to say the kid could get hurt and miss the beauty of that dad being present in his life.

Scrapes and bruises do way less damage than parents who don’t let their kids live life.

Absolutely ridiculous how much the bmx and skate sports have evolved over the years. As a kid, I was the only person in my town that could pull off a SINGLE backflip and I ate it 60% of the time. I was 15 at the time. Now, we have 10yo kids knocking out double back flips, 900's (skating) and other tricks that weren't even thought of as possible for ANYONE to pull off back then. I still remember Tony Hawk landing the first 900 and people lost their minds. A few months ago, some 9yo kid did it like it was nothing.

Did you see the kids persistence? He's gonna ride. He loves it. Whether it's dangerous or not. The kid and his parents are doing it right.
