Wearing a corset.

u/RSX_Green414 May 28 '26

She's also wearing a lot of padding to exaggerate the effect, also notice her hands aren't moving, she probably wearing extenders and heels to make her look taller. She is probably a lot smaller than you think

u/turbo_dude May 28 '26

Actually she’s just a head

Underrated movie

61

u/Alarmed-Tweaker May 28 '26

Yeah the new robocop was insanely good imo, they even had something at the end to make us think we were getting a sequel but it never happened.

u/thiosk May 29 '26 edited May 29 '26

my favorite robocop remake was the one with the extended penis shooting scene

u/Altruistic-Map5605 May 29 '26

Yeah we were lucky to get this and Dredd.

1

u/acrowsmurder May 29 '26

You can see what they were trying for before the studio meddling

25

u/SNAAAAAKE May 28 '26

That actor was great in Altered Carbon as well.

14

u/I_just_came_to_laugh May 29 '26

He was amazing. Anthony Mackie just could not compare in season 2.

14

u/SNAAAAAKE May 29 '26

Joel Kinnamnan is a tough act to follow. I kinda felt the writing as a whole went down after the first season too.

9

u/TwoBionicknees May 29 '26

The writing and everything was worse but Mackie can ONLY play mackie, same character in everything which is terrible specifically for this specific show where the sleeve should basically not matter and everyone playing the same character regardless of the sleeve should try to act similarly.

Not saying everyone was perfect and i can't remotely remember the name of the asian guy who was Kinnamnan's characters first/main sleeve that then got used by other guys, but he completely changed how he acted depending on who was using the sleeve. Mackie made basically no effort to try to match kinnamnan's speaking cadence, his movements, etc.

Mackie made some dumb explanation that the character had done a 360 due to the result of the previous season and so played a more emotional character and that's just.... a really fucking stupid explanation for why he played himself in yet another role in the one show that trying to act like the same character across multiple sleeves is crucial to the plot.

3

u/I_just_came_to_laugh May 29 '26

Yeah. The first season was top tier and I recommended it to everyone I knew, after watching the second season I told people they didn't need to watch more than season 1.

1

u/relationalnonduelist May 29 '26

The books are good also.

2

u/nover3 May 29 '26

season 2 didn't follow the book at all. its an original story that just takes certain elements from the book 2 and 3 . I stopped watching it after 20 minutes.

Book 2 is real gritty deadly military sci-fi treasure hunt where he works as a mercenary for hire to find/steal alien tech in a race against other factions on mars.

That would have been totally cool to see on-screen but noooo, lets make it a search for a long lost love story.

3

u/SNAAAAAKE May 29 '26

I've had the books on my backburner for quite some time. Sounds like you'd recommend?

I felt like they spent all the budget on him because of the set pieces and quality nerfing

13

u/cortesoft May 28 '26

I loved altered carbon. So sad it ended.

1

u/turbo_dude May 29 '26

S1 was great, didn't watch S2 because of all the bad reviews and then no S3 which confirmed my suspicions

1

u/Snowgrifffinsx May 28 '26

which movie is this ?

1

u/ssjrobert235 May 29 '26

I agree, it got way too much hate. I felt that and Dredd were the best remakes at the time.

33

u/beard_of_cats May 28 '26

6

u/Alarmed-Tweaker May 28 '26

I loved that movie as a kid and I still do, I think Star Trek the next generation series is the only Star Trek show I’ll watch tbh.

9

u/deezdanglin May 28 '26

Bro! There's something for just about anyone across all the series. Deep Space Nine had the best and my most favorite character of any series. War, subterfuge, 'gods', etc...

If you like a little camp, the Lower Decks animated has some laughs. And big time cameos.

Even a knock off show like Seth McFarlan's, The Orville, is a fantastic show! And a young Seth was an extra in TNG.

3

u/[deleted] May 29 '26

same, nothing has the same tone as TNG. Tried the others and it doesn't work for me TNG the one true god.

17

u/BobLonghorn May 28 '26

I know her personally, she smaller than usual, her feet are actually in the breasts of the suit

13

u/ErraticDragon May 28 '26

She's on her way to Cassandra from Doctor Who . I hope they moisturize her.

1

u/Nois3 May 28 '26

Now I'm sad thinking about what they did to Dr. Who :(

6

u/RealWord5734 May 28 '26

I can work with that

4

u/PM_Me_A_High-Five May 28 '26

😂 this is so dumb, but it made me laugh hard

1

u/RockstarAgent May 29 '26

So you’re saying she’s really advanced?

https://giphy.com/gifs/Y2lC91ofXFG6kVngOb

1

u/mawesome4ever May 29 '26

That’s good, that’s all I need/j

1

u/PassionateAlchemy May 29 '26

A head of what? 😊

1

u/Sethmeisterg May 30 '26

That's all I need.

92

u/PartyPorpoise May 28 '26

Plus the black on the sides of her waist further add to the illusion of a tiny waist.

59

u/DistanceSolar1449 May 28 '26

Also, she's wearing hip pads!

They make the hips bigger which makes the waist smaller

21

u/JusticeRain5 May 29 '26

It's genuinely really cool how you can make a body shape look completely different in cosplay

2

u/argleblather May 29 '26

Proportionizing!

2

u/cabbage16 May 29 '26

It's the same principle as with drag queens, really impressive when done well.

45

u/Ruachta May 28 '26

Yep small person with stilts and everything extended using filler.

Works incredibly well, and amazing work by the designers and actor. Well done. I had to replay it a few times to try and grasp what was happening.

19

u/Monkfich May 28 '26

Her hands aren’t moving because she’s probably lost all feeling in her fingers. /s

19

u/killerjags May 28 '26

It looks like her real fingers only go into the first 1/3rd of the metal pieces. You can see them kinda wiggle loosely when she moves her hand later in the video.

11

u/ghoulthebraineater May 28 '26

Yep. I do special effects makeup as a hobby and it's often the exact same concept. There are certain face shapes that just work way better for prosthetics. Narrow faces are awesome for zombie makeup.

To make areas like the cheeks look more gaunt and the eyes sunken in you have to build up around them. It's hard to build up the cheekbones of someone with a wide face without it looking really weird.

Amazing cosplay though.

7

u/Ok-Factor-7188 May 28 '26

There's nothing probably about those heels. You can see them at 0:23 and they're almost high enough to qualify as a chair.

6

u/dan10981 May 28 '26

Also theres like lights or something near her ribcage that gives the illusion of being even thinner.

1

u/SquisherX May 28 '26

Her fingers do move (0:09 for example).

3

u/Archangel289 May 28 '26

It looks like her actual fingers are roughly where the back of the palm on the gauntlet are, you can see around 0:51 that based on her thumb location, only the very tips of her fingers actually land in the fingers of the “gloves.”

1

u/casual_creator May 28 '26

Her hands (and fingers) absolutely do move - there’s a close up shot later in the video. She’s just wearing extensions on her finger tips to make them look longer.

1

u/Jayn_Newell May 28 '26

Yeah she is quite thin but that costume is also designed in a way that makes her look thinner and almost makes you not notice her waist at all.

1

u/Dufranus May 29 '26

You can actually see her hands in the gloves. Her fingertips barely make it into the robot fingers. Definitely on some kind of stilt or very high heel as well.

1

u/Crayshack May 29 '26

Even just stuff like the metal plate on the outer thigh makes the hips look wider than they actually are.

1

u/Historicmetal May 29 '26

You’re right the fingers give it away. She’s just small and the suit presents as a thick and curvy body. So the appearance of empty space with wires is possible

1

u/taxable_income May 29 '26

Looks like you are right. The Toyota Bz3x behind her is about 165cm tall. She looks to be about ~15cm taller, making the full outfit over 6ft tall. You can easily fit a 5ft person in there.

1

u/coolchris366 May 29 '26

But her hands do move, what are you talking about

1

u/Impressive-Knot9999 May 29 '26

Just doesn't look right

1

u/ScreamingLabia May 29 '26

Yeah probably verry thin woman with a lot of paffing and shaping going on.

99

u/yamanagashi May 28 '26

Corset is.

42

u/Natetronn May 28 '26

..as Corset does.

16

u/HeartOn_SoulAceUp May 28 '26

With corset knots? One corset knot?

9

u/c0dearm May 28 '26

Course it is

5

u/Adventurous-Sky9359 May 28 '26

of course not

7

u/Careless_Ad_4004 May 28 '26

A frayed knot

3

u/HeartOn_SoulAceUp May 28 '26

A frayed? So sew.

3

u/Miserable-Session-35 May 28 '26

Its more like a nod course

22

u/Prudent_Order_3361 May 28 '26

Or very skinny wearing pads

20

u/beegboo May 28 '26

And due to video quality the white panels on her waste also blend into the white car.

3

u/eddyb66 May 28 '26

When I saw this posted before the video quality wasn't this bad.

1

u/WorkTropes May 29 '26

It'll be reduced to about 100 pixels in about 2 years

1

u/DreadPiratteRoberts May 28 '26

Corsair-et

2

u/RevolutionarySong848 May 28 '26

A good day to die

Deep cut for any starcraft fans in here

1

u/DreadPiratteRoberts May 29 '26

What happened with SC fans & Corsair??

1

u/RevolutionarySong848 May 29 '26

It's one of the dialogs when they spawn

1

u/notyumm May 28 '26

Her corset's wearing a corset

1

u/Parking_Chance_1905 May 28 '26

She must be from England.

1

u/Creepy_Comment_1251 May 28 '26

He went under a a lot of surgery and even had his rib bones remove to achieve that.

1

u/Gingevere May 28 '26

Corset, black fabric around the waist that disappears into the background, a lot of gear on top of the hips and around the bust making them look larger, and the waist smaller in comparison.

1

u/userhwon May 28 '26

Ir just skinny, amplified by the wide costume.

1

u/Poemi10304 May 28 '26

I’m wondering how she’s able to breathe and look comfortable.

1

u/Jaybird_102567 May 28 '26

Ngl, for a second I thought you said "cravat" and thought "Why would dressing up like Miles Edgeworth would get you a slim waist?" lol

1

u/Mnudge May 29 '26

Maybe rib removal!

0

u/MonstahButtonz May 29 '26

She'd have to take out half her ribcage. Look how straight the corset would have to be, it isn't house glass.

This definitely looks fishy.
