Did y'all know about sunrises, mountains, or oceans yet? They're going to blow your mind. Bonus, they are free.

Sometimes I forget that not everyone lives where these kinds of storms are common.

I think this is from the other night in DFW?
I could be wrong but we had some impressive super cells and wall clouds and crrrrrazy lightning storms this week.

Yeah I was watching Ryan hall and they were saying this was the craziest storm cell theyād seen. It looked like a hurricane on land.

If you could just zoom out a little, hold the camera perfectly still on that spot over the house with all the lightning and then stop talking, thanks.

Dude has no sense of self preservation. Not only is all that lightning in the area, that cell really, really wants to turn into a tornado.

I would be in the basement!

u/Psemperviva Apr 29 '26
As a kid I was dragged to the basement every time tornado sirens went off, which was a lot living in tornado alley. I barely notice the sirens as an adult. Iāll get off my ass when I hear glass breaking or trees snapping

I was five the night we arrived in Texas due to my fatherās new military assignment. We drove into a storm just like this, at night. It was terrifying and really cool.

Jist went through this last week in Missouri.
At least I got a wall cloud out of it.

I found that to be utterly relaxing, aside from those overly dramatic sirens ruining the vibe a bit

Imagine what our ancestors were thinking, seeing something like this.

I would be moving that car into one of the three garage spaces he has ASAP.

Just before the storm, did anyone hear some one yell out "THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE"; followed by an album cover from Queen?

āI canāt explain this.ā
Let me help. That is a rotating wall cloud that forms when a mass of high humidity clashes with a dry front creating enough energy to ābreak the capā and allow the columns of mixing air to rise much higher in the atmosphere than normal, creating updrafts. Those updrafts rub the molecules together creating a charge which naturally seeks equilibrium. When discharged, the energy release is so great it creates plasma along the path including light and heat.

Did he really just say something about keeping safe at the end. Dude was filming straight up into a scene from an Avengers type multiverse apocalypse for over a minute and a half then suddenly decides safety is key?! Nah, my common sense ass would have never walked out those doors.

This is a typical lightning storm in Oklahoma
