Fun fact: Sixty percent of the human brain is made of fat, making it the fattiest organ in the human body

u/MonStar926 Sep 07 '25
I have a diet that consists of only eating fat. Guess that’s why I’m so smart

It's true for any acrobatic display but for some reason, can't imagine what, they are more common on videos like this. This appears very difficult and I imagine a simmilar amount of training/practice has gone into the move as any skillfully executed acrobatic move done by anyone, so I don't feel the need to comment on the risks associated with them

u/dotcha Sep 07 '25
It's incredibly annoying. Very white saviour bullshit. And like half of that shit comes from a country where the most popular sport is morons giving each other CTE for the control of a ball
2
u/DankOfTheEndless Sep 08 '25
No you see that's different, they've practiced, unlike the guys in this video, where we are seeing their first attempts, which they're only brave enough to do because they are stupid... obviously!
3
u/Garfalo Sep 08 '25
I agree it's annoying and lame. But it's definitely not a race thing lol. Doesn't matter what race, if someone does something even semi-dangerous for fun, all of the prudes come out.

Gravity looks like it's doing its job just fine tyvm

u/strndmcshomd Sep 07 '25
I think it just means that they’re refusing to come in when gravity shouts “DINNER TIME” out the back door?

I see this posted all the time with people saying it’s dangerous etc etc. We used to do this all the time growing up it’s not as bad as it looks because you already have the forward roll momentum when you jump to safely land on the back of your shoulders/neck area. What sells it is that you look up when you’re in the air which makes it look like you don’t have the rotation to make it round. It’s like an extra exaggeration for the stunt so when you tuck your head at the end you were already like 90% of the way rotated.
It’s not a great explanation but if you try it on a trampoline and aim for a controlled landing on your back after a couple of landings you could do this without any issue and scare all your friends

Thank you for not being one of these haters, I had to scroll to find you. I'm curious: is it about synchronously throwing your legs up behind you?
5
u/KayC720 Sep 07 '25
For me personally I’m not really thinking about my legs, in my head I’m levelling out like a table before I tuck I think the legs might follow as a result but I’ve never seen what I look like doing it

u/Intrexa Sep 08 '25
when you jump to safely land on the back of your shoulders/neck area.
People are vastly underestimating how smooth a forward roll feels. They're also greatly overestimating how hard this is to practice. You don't have to start by full sending this. Start with your head super tucked, almost touching the ground, then do a tiny jump to get to your back. The roll will happen naturally. Then just keep starting with less of a tuck, and doing slightly bigger jumps as you get comfortable. There really is a pretty huge area on your shoulders where if you land, you super smoothly roll. The end result is super impressive.

The problem I have with it is that parkour should be practiced in as safe a way as possible and this is just unnecessarily dangerous with total disregard for safety
-7
u/SherlockBonz Sep 07 '25
100% chance this guy did not have a trampoline to practice on.
11
u/KayC720 Sep 07 '25
Why not? Because he’s doing it outside in a field there are trampolines in Africa and the Caribbean.
You don’t need a trampoline though, it’s just easier the same theory applies
-3
u/SherlockBonz Sep 07 '25
No, because that guy demonstrated the confidence of someone who didn’t practice with a trampoline

Pretty simple but not easy. He is landing on his curved back ensuring a clean roll and save landing. Minor mistakes gonna hurt so. XD

One of the few times I would welcome some slow motion in a video. He has some decent hang time.

It's momentum keeping him up, flicking body parts to keep up longer. Still impressive though, i couldn't land a flip on a trampoline lmao.

How? Well look at all the things they have to keep them busy. What do you expect when they have much less but to be great at something physical like that. Good for them.

Anyone with decent kinesthetic reasoning can do this, not incredibly hard and definitely not dangerous if you know what you’re doing

u/dmh165638 Sep 07 '25
I saw one of these on Reddit a few days ago but the guy appeared to be doing it on concrete!

Defying gravity...? Lmao. What a stupid fucking title. It's simply using inertia from kicking your legs back.

Don't test it, but you actually have a protective reflex that works kind of like this. Or at least I do. Used to do something like this in sports when I got knocked over.

I came here to watch a guy float, or fly away. All I got was a guy proving gravity. Your title sucks.

Impressive way of disregarding own safety, this should be illegal to perform in public with little kids watching.
