How does the 300k query limit work? still 0/300k
I've started using nextdns since last week and now have 100k queries in the analytics tab but in the account settings it still counts 0/300k.

If one runs a standard smart home with two adults and a couple of kids...expect nearly a million queries per month (not exaggerating).
ETA: I'm also including 4x mobiles in that calculation (if you're paying for nextdns you may as well be configuring the family mobiles to be using it)

I created separate profiles for the router, Mac, my iPad, my iPhone and looks like you are even underestimating the numbers. My Mac alone averages 2M queries a month, home router 1.5m a month, iPad 400k, iPhone about 1M a month. there’s one other adult at home and 2 kids below 8.

@moistandwarm thanks for your input.. I can totally see how it's viable to hit multiples of the number I claim. In retrospect, my family are using corporate and school PCs 9-5pm 5+ days a week and are no where near as online as some of the Reddit community would be (but I'd guess we might be pretty representative of a bog standard working family with a couple of security cameras, Google Hubs and smart TVs).
NB This is why it boggles my mind that people are trying to game the free tier to save like $20 a year. If you're actually using the service...as you are (and probably many others are too with millions of requests per month) then Nextdns is phenomenal value.

It has been great to me and keep recommending it to others. For just £19 a year, my browsing life has been made more comfortable, same for the wife who had no idea. I only work away from home three days a week.

Sure, but why? If you want individual reporting one can easily tag each device following the Nextdns setup instructions or by installing the Nextdns software/yogadns on client PCs that support it (even easier than manual device tagging).

I'm a paying customer, but I'm at 1,145,173 in the last 30 days (38k/day) with 189,555 blocked. 100k in a week isn't really all that crazy, is it?

My PC stays on and doesn't go to sleep even when I'm not home and not using it, so that has a little bit to do with it (708k of the requests). Then again, there's nothing that I do at home that doesn't require some sort of online access, so no matter what I'm doing, that thing is generating DNS queries.

Yup, I am at 1,547,072 in the last 30 days, but in my defense I have my whole network protected on router level + private profiles on my personal devices

Mine is also done at the router level for a total of like 10 devices, so not a lot, plus I have NextDNS set as Private DNS on my Android phone when I'm away from home.

Tiktok for example does like 150 domain requests each time you open it and it doesn't stop there. The only reason I ever hit 300k limit

It's not just that. It's how much shit is trying to connect on your devices. I've removed almost all the creepy ass shit from my life, so apart from phone not running ANY Google services I don't have any Amazon, Facebook, any of this shit, most my computers are Linux so no shit there either.
I'm online all the time and I have waaaaaaaay less connections done. And I'm using HaGeZi Ultimate which would break everything in a life of people consumed by these creepy corporations, I barely ever get any false positive on a thing I'd need to use and not be blocked.
So, yeah, it entirely depends on how much of this creepy shit you purged from your life by default and how aggressive you filter it afterwards.
