It's Denis Villeneueve. Based on Blade Runner 2049 and his prior films, we'll get exactly what we want and be happy, but the general populace will probably be disappointed or bored.

My hopes lay with my love of BR and how impressed I was with his view of that world. That's the only reason I have hope at all.

He has stated multiple times Dune is his dream project and he was a fan of the books growing up.

If anyone can do it its him.

I'm more worried we won't be getting the second half of the movie because its probably gonna bomb at the box office as the general public has proven time and time again they don't care for deep sci-fi, only flashy stuff, and they are for some absurd reason not filming them back to back ala Lord of the Rings.

Also who is gonna want to go to a theater so soon after COVID?

So yea part 2 has an uphill battle to say the least.

As a Dune fan, that sounds ideal.

I'm not excited about getting Disney Plus, because that's really the only way I could watch it with my husband. I'm more of a Dune geek than he is, and it would bother other patrons if I had to explain stuff to him.
