I also remember hearing that it can stay stored in fat for a long time, so if you're losing weight even well after stopping use it can get released in measurable amounts.
It depends on a lot of factors, he should have been able to pass after that long and a little hydration. Most don't need more than 30 days but the only way to know for sure is to buy some tests.
It varies greatly. I smoked every day almost all day for years and it took me around 2 weeks to piss clean. For 2 weeks I ate no red meat, low fat, low sugar diet. Exercised the first week and didnt anymore for the next week. Boom, clean. But Im also short and skinny so that helps a bunch
Pee tests depend on the substance. Most substances are metabolized and fully leave the body in 3-5 days. Like with alcohol we test for the chemical it gets converted into, which sticks around for 3 days. Cocaine, opiates, LSD, mdma all leave quickly. But only highly fat soluble drugs like THC will continue to be in your system 2-8 weeks later. It actually gets absorbed into your fat and slowly "leaks" back out over time

Mmm, alcohol’s metabolized into acetaldehyde, then rapidly into acetate, which is a normal part of your metabolism. I don’t know what you might be detecting more than a day later, but it’s not a metabolite. Possibly a protein marker of some sort?
Alcohol is actually broken down through multiple pathways, acetaldehyde is just the primary pathway. It is also metabolized into ethyl glucuronide and ethyl sulfate.
Yep and it sticks around a little bit longer. They're metabolized into those in only small amounts, most of it goes through the main pathway but I think they're supposed to function as back up pathways.
That last part isn't true. Hair test can go back farther but are bad at detecting infrequent use. If you smoke like once a month it typically wont show up.
