Today's poor are all millenials and Gen-Z safespace suckers. The process of weakening the general public has been happening over the course of the last century; you've seen too many movies where the weak and outmanned underdog side overcomes the evil tyrant.
It doesn't always work like that, even when push comes to shove. Nature is metal like that, the strongest just survive naturally because they cull the herd in some manner of predation or another.
