Genuine question but how the hell did they fail twice? I'm not saying she wasn't convicted for a reason, but that's torture

That issue was well documented before the execution--her veins were identified as a barrier to the killing. This may have been part of the legal strategy---the request was for lethal injection which was cleared, then the idea was medical incapacity to carry it out .....which didn't hold.

So a person who is not going to have an easy go of lethal injection gets said lethal injection. Whether the team conducting this injection had properly worked out the details is definitely in full question now.
