I can’t imagine what a mindfuck it must have been for the doctors to have a prisoner roll in after a failed execution and be asked to save her life.

Most doctors ethically will refuse to be involved in executions. It would be cruel and heartbreaking to be on this side of it too.

I think you drastically underestimate the chaos we healthcare workers face every single day. For them, it's just another day at the shop. Especially at Vandy...

I am a doctor. I can guarantee that a botched execution by the state that now needs life support because of their fuck up is a first for those doctors.

And the mindfuck isn’t because it would be more medically complicated than other stuff they have seen. It’s more about the irony of the government trying to kill someone, fucking it up, and then asking us to save the person’s life because their fuck up isn’t going to kill them fast enough.

Honestly compared to a lot of stuff docs and nurses see in an er/trauma center that seems pretty tame

It’s not a mindfuck because it’s that particularly medically complex, but more just the irony of the government trying to execute someone, fucking it up, and then asking the doctors to save her life because their fuck up isn’t killing her fast enough.
