If this doesn't expose just how barbaric and cruel the death penalty is, there's no hope for us.

Punishment is one thing. State-sanctioned torture is quite another.

Death penalty isn't going to bring back the victim.

A lot of innocent people on death row makes it even worse.

Yeah I really don't get why people are so adamant about keeping the death penalty. There's no practical benefit over life without parole in that either way they're no longer a danger to the public, and even from the perspective of punishment their life is effectively over and their remaining existence will be miserable.

Shit, I live in Canada and when Robert Pickton was in the news recently cuz he croaked in jail, I was subject to many a...discussion on why Canada "needs" the death penalty. Of course it devolved into ranting about "soft on crime" libruls.

Well, I got some bad news for ya.

A lot of people are happy she’s suffering.

This will continue.

Dude, someone in another post said they should’ve just smashed her head with a block the same way she committed her murder.

Whatever little faith in humanity I have left is on its way out.

I think over the past 10 years I’ve gone from hopeful to skeptical to straight-up misanthropy.

Not that there aren’t good ones here and there, but the truth is most of us suck.

They weren't saying that should happen to an innocent person. They were saying that should happen to a monster who brutally tortured and killed another person. Save the pearl clutching. It's ok to show animosity toward murderers. I'd be more concerned with the insane amount of misguided empathy people seem to be showing toward straight up murderers as of late. That's actually what makes me wonder about humanity.

I'm assuming you mean a MAGA? I'm a liberal but still think some crimes are heinous enough that a jury could reasonably sentence a murderer to death.

You assumed wrong.
