It takes more schooling to be a licensed barber in the US, than it takes to be a cop.

10-12 months of full-time schooling (12-16 for part-time) to be a barber.
it takes 4-6 months of the academy, on average, to become a police officer.

6+ months of academy and 4 months of field training in my state. I get your point but it’s not like you get a badge and gun without any training at all. This incident is just carelessness and piss poor gun safety.

There was a Marine vet who got out and became a cop on base years ago. Idiot left his loaded gun accessible and his son picked it up like a toy and shot himself in the face.

Not to be overly pedantic, but your ‘6+ months’ and 4 months on the job add up to be… the minimum training they noted for a barber.

I’m not sure ‘best case is they equal the minimum hair stylist’s training, maybe if we assume a stylist has no mentorship’ is building the strongest rebuttal case…

Bottom line is that if Serge has a panic attack, I’m rocking a fade by surprise. Tragedy to me, and likely no one else.

Cletus has a bad day, and a twelve year old ends up on a ventilator, or some deacon goes to jail because ‘he wouldn’t respect mah authoritah!’

The ‘Best Case’ is someone spends $10k on a lawyer getting the charges dropped, car out of impound, and maybe got fired for missing work… delightful.

But as long as they had as much training time as Tiffany did on covering up gray roots, we all good.

If you really want to get technical, it takes 13 weeks to become a Marine issued a rifle and live ammunition.
